Israeli daily Ma'ariv reports on PMW's frequent exposure of PA incitement

[…] Two months ago a terrorist arrived at the Bekaot checkpoint with a bomb strapped to his body, shouted “Allahu Akbar” [“Allah is Greater”], and was shot by the soldiers. Two weeks later, the Palestinian Authority governor of the Jenin district visited the terrorist’s family and awarded them $2,000, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas. The Palestinian press featured the story. The Hebrew press readership knows nothing about it.

Another example? Just one day prior to the murder in Itamar, the advisor to [Prime Minister] Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech in which he called for internal differences to be set aside and to “turn the weapons towards the main enemy”. He also called to amplify the anniversary of the death of terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, responsible for the [1978] Coastal Road bus hijacking and bearing the blood of 37 on her hands – 12 of them children. […]
Football tournaments, youth centers, and dance groups have also been named after Mughrabi. […]

Less than a week before the terror attack in Itamar, the PA daily newspaper announced a football tournament for youth to be named after Wafa Idris, the first female suicide bomber, who blew herself up nine years ago on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, killing a Jew. Two days earlier, in a procession which took place at the Deheisheh refugee camp, Fatah commemorated the terrorist responsible for the massacre of 11 people, among them children and babies, in the Beit Yisrael neighborhood of Jerusalem. […]

Last summer – another example – the PA Minister of Prisoners awarded the “Shield of Resoluteness and Giving” to a mother whose four terrorist sons are imprisoned in Israel, serving a total of 18 life sentences. ‘She deserves that we bow to her in salute and in honor’, he declared.

These quotes – and there are countless more like them – are not secret intelligence material. Everything is out in the open. It’s all in the official Palestinian Authority press. Itamar Marcus’s organization, “Palestinian Media Watch”, translates these materials and dispatches them regularly to anyone who is interested. And since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the number one issue on our public agenda, the fact that these stories don’t find their way into our headlines is nothing less than scandalous. It would not be outlandish to suggest that most Israeli citizens, were they to read daily what our negotiating partners think about terrorism and murder, would think a thousand times before allowing the government to sit with them. The media, whose position on the Palestinian issue is well-known, choose to keep the public’s eyes shut and not to present this information. I can find no other intelligent explanation.
