Fatah Central Committee member and PLO Central Council member Jamal Muhaisen: "The enemy of the region, the enemy of the Palestinians, and of the Arab and Islamic nation is Israel, and not any state that the US and Israel are trying to start wars [against]. I say to you: Our enemy is not Iran. The enemy of the Arab and Islamic nation is not Iran; the enemy of the Arab nation is Israel… It cannot be that all of the armies that have been prepared [for war] for 50 years at the expense of Arab money and at the expense of the bread of the Arab citizen, and all of the military power of the Arab nation will not be turned against the occupation. If this does not happen, every person of rank [in the Arab armies] will lose his honor."
