Palestinian Writers Unions condemn the US, France, and Britain for their stances on Israel’s Gaza offensive

Headline: “General Writers Union condemns the American position on aggression against Gaza and calls for a world cultural front”
“The General Union of Palestinian Writers and the Union of Palestinian Arab Writers in Occupied Haifa condemned the position taken by the American president and his government concerning the Israeli aggression against Gaza (i.e., Israel’s operation Pillar of Defense that aimed at destroying terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, November 2012). It called it ‘wretched, defeatist, and biased in favor of the Israeli enemy.’ It also condemned the positions taken by a number of European countries, first and foremost France and Britain, who aligned themselves with the aggression by equating the victim with the executioner. It said that this constituted the height of hypocrisy. The notice praised the heroic acts of all factions in the Palestinian resistance and ‘the legendary strength’ of Gaza that embraced the resistance and defended it in spite of the many civilian Martyrs (Shahids), the many sacrifices made and the suffering that this aggressive war brought on. The notice said that the resistance re-inspired the Palestinian people. “
