PA TV skit: Father teaches son veneration of Al-Khansa who celebrated the death of her four sons as Shahids
Boy: "Daddy, daddy, who is this woman?"
Father: "This is the poet Tumadir, who is known by the name Al-Khansa. She was one of the prettiest women of her time."
Woman: "When her brother was killed [in battle before the rise of Islam] and later her uncle, she mourned them bitterly."
Al-Khansa: "I mourned bitterly for [my brother] Sakher, until my eyes became blind. In battle, four of my sons became Shahids (Martyrs)."
Father: "When she heard of her four sons' deaths, she turned to the creator and said: 'Praise Allah, who has honored me with their deaths.'"

Note: Al-Khansa - an Arab woman and poet from the earliest period of Islam (7th century) famous and honored in Islamic tradition for sending her four sons to battle and rejoiced when they all died as Martyrs. She has been lauded by the PA and often presented as a role model for mothers.
