Op-ed in PA daily glorifies terrorist who murdered 10 as "national Palestinian rebel who targeted armed occupying soldiers and settlers"

Excerpt of op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: "The criminal is leader and king in Israel!"
"Between [former Chief Rabbi of Israel] Mordechai Eliyahu's student who killed Palestinian woman Aisha Al-Rabi with a large rock that struck her in the head (referring to 16-year-old Israeli who's been indicted but denies the charges; see note below –Ed.), and Palestinian freedom fighter Thaer Hammad (i.e., terrorist, murdered 10) who ordered an Israeli woman to move away from the scene of the operation so that she would not be harmed (PMW was unable to find record of this; there were 3 civilians among Hammad’s victims –Ed.), there is an enormous difference – like the difference between slavery and freedom. This is because he is a national Palestinian rebel who targeted armed occupying soldiers and settlers, [and] whose human morals, national education, and religious spiritual culture prevented him from killing an Israeli Jewish woman and her child, and he diverted them from passing there."

Aisha Al-Rabi – 48-year-old Palestinian woman who was killed when rocks were thrown at her car on Oct. 12, 2018, at Tapuach Junction near Nablus. An indictment was submitted against a 16-year-old Jewish minor on Jan. 24, 2019, claiming that he murdered Al-Rabi in a terror attack; the minor denies the charges.

Thaer Hammad – Palestinian terrorist serving 11 life sentences for murdering 3 Israeli civilians and 7 soldiers by shooting them with a sniper rifle from a hilltop in Wadi Al-Haramiya between Ramallah and Nablus on March 3, 2002.
