PLO official: 1967 borders are "temporary," real solution is end of Israel
Member of PLO Executive Committee and the Arab Liberation Front leadership Mahmoud Ismail:
"The USA initiated an attempt to bring the two sides together to reach a just and comprehensive solution in the region, based on the 1967 borders. This is [also] our demand, since the Palestinian leadership and the [Palestinian] National Council's decisions confirm that Palestine is committed or rather agrees to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and within the 1967 borders. There's consensus about that. Of course, some see this as a permanent solution, while some see it - as do we in the Arab Liberation Front - as a temporary solution. We don't think that a peaceful solution is possible without the return of all the refugees and the return of all the occupied land."
