Fatah spokesperson: `An American decision to transfer the US embassy… would be a declaration of war against the Palestinian people’
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 4, 2017
Headline: "Intensive Palestinian-Arab activity"

Al-Qawasmi said: 'An American decision to transfer the US embassy will ignite the region and block all of the paths that lead to a political process.'

Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front [and PLO Executive Committee member] Wasel Abu Yusuf said that… 'We understand that the American administration is completely biased in favor of the occupation government, but if this matter reaches the point of this administration's declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation state, this would be a declaration of war against the Palestinian people, which clings to Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state, and this would mean the end of the peace process.'"

Abbas: “an American decision such as this will destroy the peace process and drag the region into more instability and extremism”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 4, 2017
Headline: “The [PA] president: Any American step connected to Jerusalem constitutes a threat to the future of the political process”

“Following contacts that he is making and efforts that he is investing in order to protect Jerusalem and the sites in it that are holy to Islam and Christianity, [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday [Dec. 3, 2017] sent many letters to world leaders… in which he urged them to intervene with the American administration so that it will not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The president emphasized that an American decision such as this will destroy the peace process and drag the region into more instability and extremism

In a press statement yesterday, PLO [Executive Committee] Secretary, [Fatah Central Committee member, and PLO Chief Negotiator] Saeb Erekat warned that American recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel ‘will create dangerous international anarchy.’
Erekat said: ‘If the US truly intends to make a decision and trample international law… it bears the political, legal, and moral responsibility for the end of the international system as we know it today, and for creating a situation of international anarchy whose end will be bad and bitter.’

[PA] Minister of Foreign Affairs [and Expatriates] Riyad Al-Malki demanded to convene two unscheduled meetings, one of the Arab League and one of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Al-Malki said that taking this step [of transferring the US embassy to Jerusalem or recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital] ‘will cause the US to lose its role in the peace process, and will mark it as biased in favor of the occupation state and its aspirations of expansion.’”

Op-ed in Official PA daily: “the American administration… will be recorded in history that it caused the crime of peace’s execution”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 3, 2017
Headline: “Peace’s execution in Jerusalem – like the crime of Jesus’ crucifixion”

Excerpt of an op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily

“The US will find itself… as one who gives a green light to an additional wave of violence of unknown scope in Palestine and the neighboring Arab countries, and like one who justifies the crimes and barbarity of the terror organizations that harmed the US in September 16 years ago (i.e., the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks), the capitals of Europe, and many places in most of the world’s countries, if it indeed decides to recognize Jerusalem – including East [Jerusalem] – as the capital of Israel, or transfers its embassy to [Jerusalem].
If the leaks to the press are correct, the American administration will be viewed as the one who leads the peace process to the gallows and ties the noose around its neck… and it will be recorded in history that it caused the crime of peace’s execution.”

Op-ed in Official PA daily: if the US recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, “it would be like a volcanic explosion that emits lava in every direction”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 3, 2017
Headline: “Be careful of harming Jerusalem”

Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

“For the thousandth time one can direct the attention of [US] President Donald Trump and the heads of his administration to the danger of transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem. A decision like this is no joke or [mere] tactical matter from the Palestinian point of view; it is a central and essential matter in the Palestinian national struggle. No Palestinian leader is able to relinquish Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Palestine. If the US wants to preserve its interests in the region, if it is concerned about Israel, and if it is interested in fighting terror – it must not consider a decision like this, because it would be like a volcanic explosion that emits lava in every direction.”

“[PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine, [and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice] Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that these days there is much talk targeting Jerusalem , among them [reports] that the US wants to recognize it as the capital of Israel as a prelude to transferring the American embassy to it.
During a speech that he gave yesterday [Dec. 2, 2017] at a ceremony for the birthday of Prophet [Muhammad] at the [PA] presidential headquarters in Ramallah on behalf of President [Abbas] and in [Abbas’] presence, Al-Habbash added: ‘The clear position of the president, the Palestinian people, the Arab nation, and the Islamic nation is that if this occurs, it means the total destruction of the peace process. We say this clearly – if any change takes place in the political reality of Jerusalem, the entire world will pay the price of this targeting and change.’ He continued: ‘Jerusalem is our capital, and we will not agree to anything else. Any other plan – it would be better that its developers keep it to themselves. This is not only our position; it is the position of the Arab and Islamic nation, led by our brothers in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan.’”

Palestinian news agency publishes Islamic Jihad leader’s message to Israel: ‘O enemy, know that we are coming and that our bullets will reach your chest’
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, Dec. 1, 2017
Headline: "Al-Batsh: Enabling the resistance in the West Bank will protect our people from the settlers"

"Islamic Jihad Movement leader Khaled Al-Batsh emphasized the need for all of the Palestinian spheres to remain in a state of ongoing confrontation with the occupation, from Jenin (i.e., in the northern West Bank) to Rafah (i.e., in the southern Gaza Strip), whatever the cost may be, and also emphasized that we are waging all of our battles with determination and honor.
In a speech he gave during a vigil that Islamic Jihad organized at the Jabalia [refugee] camp as a sign of support for the residents of the village of Qusra in Nablus who are subject to attacks by the settlers (sic., the residents assaulted a group of young Jews hiking near the village on Nov. 30, 2017, and one Jew shot and killed one of the attackers in self-defense), he said: 'Without confronting the occupation, protecting the weapons of the resistance, and conveying a message from our people to the occupation that we are the owners of the right and the land… the world will understand that we have surrendered to the occupation.'

He directed a message to the Israeli occupation by saying: ‘O enemy, know that we are coming and that our bullets will reach your chest as happened yesterday [Nov. 31, 2017] in Beit Hanoun (refers to terrorists in Gaza who fired mortars on Israeli soldiers; none were wounded on the Israeli side –Ed.). We are a people that will not die, and our revenge will not die until we cause the enemy to pay, at any cost, because that is our way.’

He also emphasized [the importance of] the Palestinian national unity, the [Hamas-Fatah] reconciliation, and the efforts to achieve them at any cost."
Abbas advisor: The Temple Mount will remain a “purely Islamic” mosque under Muslim sovereignty, despite Israeli “acts of falsifying history and distorting historical facts”
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Nov. 26, 2017
"Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine, [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, [and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice] Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash… explained that the Palestinians in all of their varieties and leaders, and the Arabs and Muslims together with them, will never allow the occupation authorities to impose their sovereignty over the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount), which was and will remain a purely Islamic mosque, over which non-Muslims have no sovereignty. This is as was determined by divine decree in the holy Quran and also by UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) resolutions, despite all the acts of falsifying history and distorting historical facts that the Israeli occupation state is attempting to carry out."

Note: Israel has publically stated multiple times that it has no intention whatsoever of changing the status quo at the Temple Mount.
PLO education official: Israel has falsified Jerusalem's "consciousness and memory," excavates under the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to steal it, and appropriates Palestinian culture
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 14, 2017
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on PA Ambassador to UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) Mounir Anastas being appointed Rapporteur of the UNESCO Cultural Committee, hosting Secretary-General of the PLO Palestinian National Council for Education, Culture, and Science Murad Al-Sudani

Secretary-General of the PLO Palestinian National Council for Education, Culture, and Science Murad Al-Sudani: ""There is no time, hour, minute, day, month, or week that it [Israel] does not penetrate the innards of the city [Jerusalem] in order to falsify its consciousness and memory, and in order to excavate under the Al-Aqsa Mosque and above it with the goal of stealing...
[The Israelis] have attributed to themselves the Palestinian Viper (i.e., known as the Viper of the Land of Israel and the scientific name Vipera Palaestinae), the Palestinian Gazelle (i.e., known as the Gazelle of the Land of Israel), Palestinian embroidery, the Palestinian debka (i.e., a type of dance), the Palestinian keffiyeh (i.e., Arab headdress), and most of the Palestinian foods – humus, the broad bean, falafel, [and] shakshouka (i.e., an egg and tomato dish). They steal all of these items in order to create a culture for a people without a culture."

Preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque: “Muslims have an absolute right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque” including all that it contains
Source: Donia Al-Watan (independent Palestinian news agency), Nov. 10, 2017
“Imam and Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Yusuf Abu Sneineh said today [Nov. 10, 2017] during his sermon at the Al-Aqsa Mosque… that the Muslims have an absolute right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, including all of the mosques, prayer sites, [and] plazas… that it contains.”
PA daily: Israelis visiting the Temple Mount on a Jewish holiday carried out “invasions” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, organized by “alleged Temple” organizations
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 16, 2017
Headline: “The occupation is continuing to burden occupied Jerusalem – the settlers are renewing the invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque”
“Yesterday [Oct. 15, 2017] groups of settlers renewed their invasion of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza through the Lion’s Gate [of the Old City of Jerusalem] amid reinforced protection from the occupation forces, and the settlers carried out provocative dubious tours at the blessed mosque plaza. The Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza was witness to widespread invasions by settlers last week, as a response to the calls of what are called the alleged Temple organizations to their activists and to the settler public to widely participate in collective invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza for the Jewish Sukkot holiday.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

"Alleged Temple organizations" refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Institute, the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site.
PA Minister: “Israel's claims regarding the finding of Jewish antiquities are a clear falsification of [Jerusalem's] history”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 5, 2017
Headline: "Al-Husseini: Reconciliation is the correct path and we need efforts for Jerusalem"
"Governor of the Jerusalem District [and PA Minister of Jerusalem Affairs] Adnan Al-Husseini said: 'The Israeli excavations and [digging of] tunnels in Jerusalem have been going on since 1967. They have caused cracks in the historical buildings and threaten them with collapse. Likewise, most of the antiquities that have been found in these excavations are antiquities from the Islamic culture in its different periods - along with Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad antiquities - and Israel's claims regarding the finding of Jewish antiquities are a clear falsification of the city [of Jerusalem's] history.' Al-Husseini said this yesterday, Wednesday, [Oct. 4, 2017], during a meeting organized by the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate, at which a number of writers, journalists, and intellectuals were present."

PLO official: The Western Wall (i.e., Judaism's holiest site) “is an inseparable part of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and a pure right of the Muslims” that will not be changed by Israel’s “illusions and acts of forgery”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 4, 2017
Headline: “Qurei: The violations and dangers surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque are dangerous and systematic”
“PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’… emphasized in a press release yesterday, Tuesday [Oct. 3, 2017], that the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount) is an inseparable part of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and a pure right of the Muslims, and the illusions and acts of forgery that the occupation government is carrying out will not change the truth at all, and will not create facts on the ground.”

The Al-Buraq Wall - Islam's Prophet Muhammad is said to have rode during his Night Journey from Mecca to "al aqsa mosque", i.e., "the farthest mosque" (Quran, Sura 17), and there tied his miraculous flying steed named Al-Buraq to a "stone" or a "rock." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Book 47, Hadith 3424). In the 1920's, Arab Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini decided to identify the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem as that "rock" or "stone," and since then Muslims refer to the Western Wall as the "Al-Buraq Wall."
PA daily calls Jews visiting the Temple Mount for Jewish holidays “gangs of settlers” who carried out “invasions” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque because of “alleged Temple” organizations

PA daily refers to Jews visiting the Temple Mount as “invasions” and “provocative tours,” that heard explanations about the “alleged Temple”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 26, 2017
Headline: “Settlers invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning under increased security”
“Approximately 120 settlers invaded the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday morning [Sept. 25, 2017] through the Mughrabi Gate, under increased security by the occupation forces. The invasions were perpetrated by small groups that carried out provocative tours at the blessed [Al-Aqsa] Mosque plaza; they also listened to explanations about the alleged Temple in the area of the ‘locked’ Gate of Mercy, while many worshippers were in the mosque’s plaza.”
