Palestinian archaeologist denies there was a "Jewish presence" in "Jerusalem and all of Palestine" 3000 years ago

Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on Jerusalem’s “Arab and Islamic identity” being “changed,” hosting archaeologist and member of Fatah’s Jerusalem branch Abir Zayyad

Archaeologist and member of Fatah’s Jerusalem branch Abir Zayyad: “To this day, the antiquities prove that there was no presence of any sort of [King] Solomon and [King] David or a Jewish presence 3,000 years ago in Jerusalem and all of Palestine (sic., such evidence abounds).”
Op-ed in PA daily calls President Trump “stupid,” following his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 25, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Yahya Rabah, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “The great lie”
“There is no greater lie in the Israeli media than the lie of ‘unified Jerusalem’… You have Jerusalem and we have Al-Quds. [Former Israeli Presidents and Prime Ministers Levi] Eshkol, [Menachem] Begin, [Yitzhak] Rabin, [Yitzhak] Shamir, [Ehud] Barak, and [Benjamin] ‘Bibi’ [Netanyahu] have not succeeded in unifying it… There is no border strip that separates east and west [Jerusalem], no reinforced cement separation wall, and no trenches . You drive in your car from Sha’ar Hagai, through Abu Ghosh, and enter western Jerusalem. You travel and find yourself in front of a celestial wall that tells you: ‘Here begins Arab Jerusalem.’ The atmosphere changes, a breeze scented with the fragrance of history blows, and then you say: ‘How stupid is this man whose name is [US President Donald] Trump!’
Several years ago I was visited by Dr. Jamal Al-Assadi… who translated my collection of stories A Rose to Hafeeza’s Eyes into English, together with American author Martha Moody and her little son. While we were eating lunch I said: ‘I think that [former US] President George Bush, the son, is the stupidest president that America has known.’ The author’s son stopped eating, looked at me in amazement, and said to his mother: ‘I play a game with my friends in the schoolyard [called] Stupid President Bush!’
What are the children in America playing today?”
Op-ed in PA daily, criticizing US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, compares Trump to Shylock
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 23, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Yahya Rabah, regular columnist for the official PA daily

“With disparaging stubbornness, matters reached the point that Trump stood before the cameras in the White House and announced this foolish and wretched decision, as if Trump premeditatedly – as the jurists say – decided to choose from among the models the model of Shylock - the American Shylock, in the style of the Jewish Shylock, whose character was precisely outlined by the great playwright Shakespeare in his famous play The Merchant of Venice, which is read by millions, and in all languages (in the play, the Jewish character Shylock is a sly moneylender who demands that a debtor repay him with a pound of flesh, before later being defeated and forced to convert to Christianity –Ed.)…
Is a man like this, like Donald Trump, fit to be the US president?”

Political analyst on PA TV following US decision on Jerusalem: “The day will come when we will buy every Palestinian a rifle”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 22, 2017
Official PA TV, special broadcast on US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, hosting political analyst Hani Abu Zaid

Official PA TV host: “How do these sights [of Palestinian protest] affect global public opinion, and particularly – and I want to remind you and the viewers – today [Dec. 22, 2017] French President [Emmanuel Macron] said in a press conference with [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] that the events and bloodshed that came following [US President Donald] Trump’s decision [to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital] on Dec. 6 [2017] are unacceptable.” […]
Hani Abu Zaid: “And in the past, on this program, I told you that the day will come when we will buy every Palestinian a rifle. But always, when we agree on something, we do not violate the commitment. We have been agreeing to the continuation of a peace process before the world for 23 years - but what peace process? After all that has happened – let the president say what he will say, and let the political leaders say what they will say, but honestly, turn to the Palestinian and Arab publics – there is no longer any peace process…
On Dec. 6, the Oslo Accords were buried and the talk about that which is called the peace process stopped completely. Today we are in a new struggle, a new struggle of wills, and in a new battle that requires new methods in the political and diplomatic work, in addition to the public movement, public activity, intifada, and confrontations. We need international pressure and international aid from our Arab brothers and our friends in the world, and this is the beginning of the diplomatic action – President [Abbas] visiting President Macron in order to put in place a new mechanism on the international front, so that we will be able firstly to demand a fully sovereign state at the [UN] General Assembly, and secondly to
Dir. of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordanian Waqf: No archaeological proof there was Jewish presence in Jerusalem, Israel ignores Arab Islamic heritage, tries to erase it
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 22, 2017
Official PA TV program Good Morning Jerusalem, on a new synagogue that opened in the Western Wall tunnels on Dec. 19, 2017, hosting Director of Tourism and Antiquities of the Jordanian Waqf Dr. Yusuf Al-Natsheh

Official PA TV host: “Underneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., it is not under the Al-Aqsa Mosque) a Jewish synagogue was inaugurated after 12 years of excavation and quarrying in the area… Even though the excavations continued for many years, the Hebrew finds or antiquities that they claim were found there were not found at all (sic., numerous Jewish artifacts were discovered at the site).” […]
Director of Tourism and Antiquities of the Jordanian Waqf Dr. Yusuf Al-Natsheh: “The matter of the antiquities and heritage is a fundamental part of the Israeli narrative... The antiquities constitute a fundamental matter in the Israeli Zionist thinking, because they want to prove to the world and to others… that they are not ‘coming’ to the country but rather ‘returning.’ In other words, that they have roots, and that these antiquities - they are exploiting Western science and the significance of the science of archaeology… and in this way they want to rely on finds that will justify their presence and justify the injustice of the cause of Palestine and the cause of Jerusalem… They are ignoring the other layers and not relating to anything that has a connection to the Arab Islamic heritage, but rather are striving to erase it.” […]
Host: “The occupation authorities have transferred this activity from excavation and search actions to planting the Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) narrative in service of the Zionist narrative in the end, and their religious rights as you noted – that they are ‘returning.’”

Abbas’ advisor: "Jerusalem is only ours… We were in Jerusalem more than 5,000 years"

Official PA TV, excerpt of sermon by Supreme Shari’ah Judge, Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash at the mosque in the PA headquarters in Ramallah

Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash:
"Jerusalem is only ours, only ours. They [the Americans] know it. It is a strange thing that a state that is only a little older than 200 years. takes a stand toward a city that is 5,000 years old. Where was America when Jerusalem was built, that it should decide whose capital it is? And where was Israel when Jerusalem was built? Jerusalem was here before America and before Israel and before Europe and before this entire world. We were in Jerusalem more than 5,000 years ago, and we have not left it... America, which - as they say - was born yesterday, wants to decide the fate of a city whose age is greater than history."

From the outset, you did not give us aid because of our beautiful eyes. You aid us for your own interest, and out of your own interests and calculations. So stop this aid!"

PLO official accuses US of acting like a “mafia” over UN vote on US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 20, 2017
Official PA TV, special broadcast, hosting PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi

Official PA TV host: “In everything related to the [UN General Assembly] meeting tomorrow [Dec. 21, 2017, about US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital], according to the media outlets there are threatening messages from Washington to the states that will vote tomorrow at the UN General Assembly.”
PLO Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi: “This is cheap and very shameful extortion. Undoubtedly this [US Ambassador to the UN] Nikki Haley - I don’t know who appointed her as the world’s police officer. She undoubtedly told the states in closed meetings, and afterwards stated in her Twitter account, that ‘We will be following the vote of every state and I will submit a report to the president [Trump], and when you submit a request for aid or any type of special request, we will settle accounts with you over your vote now’ (See note below –Ed.). In other words, this very cheap and shameful extortion, the threat, and the warning are befitting of a state whose nation has declined, whose international level - whose rhetorical, ethical, political, and legal level [has declined] to this level. It acts as if it is a mafia.”

PA Religious Affairs Ministry: New synagogue near Western Wall is an attempt to "erase Jerusalem history, blot out cultures, and unjustly give a false Talmudic Jewish flavor to the area”
Source: Wattan (independent Palestinian news agency)‎, Dec. 20, 2017
Headline: "[PA] Ministry of Religious Affairs: The Jewish synagogue under the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the erasure of Jerusalem history"
"The Jerusalem unit of the [PA] Ministry of Religious Affairs condemned the fact that the occupation authorities have opened a new Jewish synagogue in the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount) Tunnels under the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and emphasized that its goal is to erase Jerusalem history.
The unit noted in a press statement today, Wednesday [Dec. 20, 2017], that the synagogue is surrounded by Jerusalem historical characteristics that belong to the Islamic period, but the occupation claims that these characteristics, property, and assets belong to them.
Director-General of the Jerusalem Unit and of Public Relations in the ministry Amir Abu Al-Amrin said that Israel's plan that was carried out recently is a blatant violation and true provocation of the Muslims’ sensibilities, and a coarse attempt to erase Jerusalem history, blot out cultures, and unjustly give a false Talmudic Jewish flavor to the area."

The Al-Buraq Wall - Islam's Prophet Muhammad is said to have rode during his Night Journey from Mecca to "al aqsa mosque", i.e., "the farthest mosque" (Quran, Sura 17), and there tied his miraculous flying steed named Al-Buraq to a "stone" or a "rock." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Book 47, Hadith 3424). In the 1920's, Arab Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini decided to identify the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem as that "rock" or "stone," and since then Muslims refer to the Western Wall as the "Al-Buraq Wall."
