PA daily op-ed to Jewish Israelis: “You are victims of a plan of fraud” by the “colonial powers” since Balfour “made a promise to your foreign forefathers who have no right to the land of our homeland Palestine”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 4, 2018
Excerpt of op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, a Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily

"With the passing of 100 years since the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), the message must be conveyed to the Jewish Israelis, and particularly those among them who were and still are victims of systematic fraud. We say to them with full sincerity: You are victims of a plan of fraud by the greatest colonial powers in the world, since British Foreign Secretary [Arthur] Balfour made a promise to your foreign forefathers who have no right to the land of our homeland Palestine, and until [US President Donald] Trump, who promised you to destroy our spirit, our culture, and our identity when he realized his promise to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of your state… Jewish Israelis, what you need to know is that Great Britain scorned your human value when it used your forefathers as a colonial pawn in the region. That is what Balfour did, who whispered to you unprecedented hatred and prevented you from seeking refuge in Britain during the period when you fled from the rest of Europe. All Balfour did was to export your problem to our land, and colonialist Britain did indeed succeed in using you. Today, Donald Trump is using you so that he will be able to execute his colonialist agenda."

Editorial in official PA daily rejoices at the news of US Ambassador Haley leaving her post, calling her the “the most ugly, arrogant, and conceited racist voice”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 11, 2018
Excerpt of an editorial of the official PA daily

Headline: “Bye bye, Haley”

“Whether US Ambassador to the UN [Nikki] Haley quit or was fired – and that is the more reasonable option – the house of international legitimacy [the UN] is finally rid of the most ugly, arrogant, and conceited racist voice…
In effect, Haley was nothing more than a source of tension at the UN, and what is more – a source that incites to more violence and aggression, especially regarding her frantic defense of Israel, whose army snipes at children on the Gaza border (apparently refers to defensive measures against violent March of Return protests; see note below –Ed.)! We have no doubt that the house of international legitimacy is living in a relaxed atmosphere now…
The possibility that Haley was fired is more reasonable and logical than that she submitted her resignation of her own will because she ‘wants to rest.’ There are international political circles in which it is said that states with considerable importance in the international community advised the US to remove Haley from the UN. According to other news items, financial and administrative corruption by Haley and her differences of opinion with the [US] State Department are hiding behind the dismissal. Regardless of the situation, today Haley is out of history, which says to her: ‘Bye bye, Haley.’”

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley announced her resignation on Oct. 9, 2018. The announcement was made in a joint briefing with US President Donald Trump, who said Haley had informed him of her decision to resign citing her desire “to take a break,” and that Haley’s resignation would take effect by the end of 2018.

PLO committee “emphasized its pride in the legendary resolve of our brave prisoners… [and] will continue to take care of the families of the Martyrs, the prisoners, and the wounded,” despite the US and Israel
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 8, 2018
“At its meeting yesterday [Oct. 7, 2018] in Ramallah, led by [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, the [PLO] Executive Committee repeated its previous decisions and that which was said in President [Abbas’] speech before the [UN] General Assembly – in other words, resistance to the American administration being a partner or mediator in the peace process. It considered [the administration] part of the problem and not part of the solution… [The committee] emphasized its pride in the legendary resolve of our brave prisoners, who are continuing in their struggle and in their defiance towards the Israeli jailor in all areas. It also emphasized that it will continue to take care of the families of the Martyrs (Shahids), the prisoners, and the wounded, regardless of how much the American administration and the Israeli government exaggerate in the policy of blackmail and thuggery.”

PA Foreign Ministry attacks US Ambassador Friedman: “A typical extremist right-wing Israeli, first a Jew and then an American despicable racist”… Friedman’s “ilk” are “the enemies of humanity”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 3, 2018
“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the statements of extremist US Ambassador [to Israel] David Friedman, who emphasized that Israel’s security takes precedence over the establishment of a Palestinian state (see note below –Ed.), ‘prove that he is the senior official who is most dangerous to the Palestinian cause, to our people’s rights, and to peace, stability, and security in the region.’ It added that ‘His positions are a mark of shame on the forehead of the US.’ In a statement it published yesterday [Oct. 2, 2018], the ministry condemned the blind American bias in favor of the occupation and settlements, and Friedman’s ominous statements to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation. It emphasized that his positions are not surprising, as he is a typical extremist right-wing Israeli, first a Jew and then an American, and belongs to the racist settlement movement that denies the existence of the Palestinians on this land. The ministry said that despicable racist thinking like this is expressed only by Friedman’s ilk, the enemies of humanity who belong to a culture of hatred, racism, blind enmity, and anti-enlightenment towards everything Palestinian…"

US embassy is “American settlement” says Palestinian journalist union
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 1, 2018
Headline: “The [Palestinian] Journalists’ Syndicate calls to boycott the meeting to which ‘the American settlement’ in Jerusalem issued invitations”

“The [Palestinian] Journalists’ Syndicate demanded to boycott the meeting to which ‘the American Settlement’ in Jerusalem (i.e., the US embassy) invited a few Palestinian journalists.
In a statement that it published yesterday evening [Sept. 30, 2018], the syndicate condemned the fact that ‘the American settlement’ dared to invite a few Palestinian journalists to the meeting. It viewed this as unprecedented insolence, ‘as the American administration (the administration [of US President Donald] Trump) [parentheses in source] is acting to eliminate all aspects of the Palestinian cause – political, national, and historical – and despite this, is attempting to insult the intelligence by inviting Palestinian journalists to a meeting at its embassy, which it has transferred to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Palestine, in blatant violation of the international conventions and laws.’”

US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Trump added that the final borders of Jerusalem will be determined during negotiations.
The US embassy was transferred from Tel Aviv and opened in Jerusalem on May 14, 2018, the anniversary of Israel's declaration of independence in 1948 according to the Gregorian calendar.

Fatah youth movement makes statement in support of “providing full aid” to terrorist prisoners and families of martyrs, expresses “absolute rejection of all of the American administration’s attempts”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 28, 2018
Headline: “The [PA] president sent a handwritten letter to the young Palestinians through Fatah’s Shabiba”

“The secretariat of the Fatah Shabiba [Youth] Movement in the northern districts (i.e., the West Bank) emphasized in a press release that it is a national position and an obligation of every Palestinian who is committed to their basic principles and national rights to support the position of [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] in his national campaign against the racist American administration, the occupation state, and their aggression against the Palestinian people and its firm rights, and also in his decisive adherence to providing full aid to the families of the Martyrs (Shahids), the prisoners, the wounded, and the fighters, and in his absolute rejection of all of the American administration’s attempts, its crimes against Jerusalem – the capital of the future Palestinian state, and the bypassing of the [Palestinian refugees’] right of return through attempts to dry up UNRWA’s (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) sources of aid (refers to cutting of US aid to UNRWA; see note below –Ed.).”

US President Donald Trump's administration announced on Aug. 31, 2018 that it was immediately cutting all $360 million of annual American funding to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). Explaining the decision, the US State Department said, "The fundamental business model and fiscal practices that have marked UNRWA for years – tied to UNRWA’s endlessly and exponentially expanding community of entitled beneficiaries – is simply unsustainable and has been in crisis mode for many years. The United States will no longer commit further funding to this irredeemably flawed operation."

Op-ed in official PA daily calls US President Trump a "bully," says he "acts like a gang boss and like a highway bandit," and that his speech at the UN contained a "satanic and arrogant spirit"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 27, 2018
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “The bully Trump’s speech”

“[US] President Donald Trump gave his speech two days ago [Sept. 25, 2018] at the opening meeting of the UN General Assembly’s 73rd session. If only he had not talked and not addressed the leaders of the states and nations, because it would have been more appropriate and dignified for the US if the populist and arrogant real estate man had been silent... In addition to this, in the same speech the new cowboy blatantly threatened a sovereign state – Venezuela – and its president. He announced that his administration will attack [Venezuelan] President Nicolás Maduro (sic., he announced additional sanctions on Maduro’s regime given the humanitarian crisis there), and unequivocally incited the army to carry out a coup against a president who was legally elected (sic., Trump did not call for a military coup). He also attacked socialism as if his capitalist system is in better shape…
Regarding the Palestinian cause and the peace process, anyone who listened to Trump’s speech noticed that the man acts like a gang boss and like a highway bandit, and at the same time, like a terrified man who is afraid of Israel and its allies…
He declared that the US is an empire and the leader of the world, as if he was sending the following message to all of the central bodies in the world: ‘The US is your master, your leader, and your source of authority. You have no choice but to submit to its will!’ (sic., Trump said exactly the opposite; see note below) This satanic and arrogant spirit is what was contained in the populist Trump’s speech.”

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 20, 2018
Headline: "Hamdallah: The decisions of the US will not succeed in forcing our people to relinquish its rights"

"[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said that the US can stop its aid to our people, threaten to put an end to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), and close our embassy in Washington, but it will not succeed in forcing our people to relinquish its rights…
During his speech at the ceremony [to award] the Palestine Exporter Prize for 2018 that was held yesterday [Sept. 19, 2018] in Ramallah, Hamdallah added: 'The plots around us are intensifying in order to bypass our people’s cause and prevent the establishment of our independent state in the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. The illegal American decisions come one after the other in order to deny the facts, and to attempt to subdue our people and break our resolve.' He emphasized that this will not prevent us from following the diplomatic and legal path along which [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas is advancing."

“Official [PA] Presidential Office Spokesman [and Fatah Central Committee member] Nabil Abu Rudeina said that [US Senior Presidential Advisor] Jared Kushner’s statements to the newspaper The New York Times show ignorance regarding the reality of the conflict, and constitute an attempt at deception and a forgery of the history of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites…
He also said: ‘The American understanding of the matters expresses an irresponsible policy that will lead to a destructive vacuum, and constitutes a true danger to the international legal system.’”
Op-ed in official PA daily refers to the “US and Israel’s plan to build ‘the greater Middle East’ and destroy and crush the Arab states”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 15, 2018
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “Oslo and Hamas”

“Whoever followed the Hamas Movement’s views on the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Oslo Accords noticed that its various levels of leadership declared positions condemning the Accords, and of course that this was the position at the time of their [the Accords’] signing at the White House on Sept. 13, 1993. The position of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement branch in Palestine was not summed up by [just] condemnation and rejection of the Accords, but rather they even dared to accuse the legitimate leadership of the PLO in its entirety, and [PLO and PA] President Mahmoud Abbas in particular, of treason…
Why has Hamas still not left behind the matter of the coup (refers to 2007 Hamas takeover of Gaza –Ed.), even though 12 years have passed? And who is running inside the maze of Israel and [US President Donald] Trump’s America, and passing the deal of the century (refers to Trump’s as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan –Ed.) in exchange for statements in Gaza? Was the coup against the national legitimacy in the middle of 2007 not tantamount to the spearhead of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement’s entry into the US and Israel’s plan to build ‘the greater Middle East’ and destroy and crush the Arab states, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Syria, and Yemen?”

Official PA TV host: “Do you see that after all these developments there is a possibility for a two-state solution, particularly after [the displaying of] the American position that supports Israel?”

PLO Executive Committee member and head of the PLO Department of Labor and Planning Ahmed Majdalani: “Look, this is an issue of struggle, an issue of struggle with the Israeli occupation and with the American imperialism. From now on we will return to using the expression ‘the American imperialism’ and not ‘the American administration.’ This expression, which has been lacking in the Palestinian political literature in recent years – it is appropriate that it be honored again, because the American imperialism has not changed in the last 30 years. It is still the same imperialist policy.”

Headline: "The aggression and idiocy syndrome"

"(The following is a folk saying about two donkeys discussing which of them is the greater fool –Ed.) The doctor donkey said to his friend: 'I'm a simple fool because I'm a fool and know that I'm a fool. As for you, you're a "complicated" fool because you're a fool and don't know you are one.' It could be that this philosophical saying fits [US President] Donald Trump perfectly, because he is continuing to open the files of anarchy, and is causing the greatest extent of tumult and anarchy, in order to impose his one-sided positions…

All of this has created a pattern of aggressive actions and decisions by President Trump, beginning with the decision to give Jerusalem to Israel as a gift with the stroke of a pen, [and] the transfer of his embassy as a settlement outpost to [Jerusalem] (Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on Dec. 6, 2017, and transferred the US embassy to Jerusalem on May 14, 2018; see note below –Ed.) so that it would fit the characteristics of real estate dealer [US Ambassador to Israel] David Friedman, who is reviving the character of 'Shylock’ (refers to an evil Jewish moneylender in a Shakespearean play who demands that a debtor repay him with a pound of his own flesh –Ed.), who was created by the greatest playwright in the English world, William Shakespeare."

Rawajbeh emphasized the important role that is being carried out by the Executive Council, and noted that the Palestinian cause is at a dangerous turning point in the shadow of the American bias in favor of the occupation that is being expressed by unfair decisions, the most prominent of which are the interference in UN matters and the stopping of the aid to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). He added that the goal of this interference is to revoke the refugee status of thousands of refugees in the lands of the diaspora, and commented that the American administration’s declaration of Jerusalem, our people’s eternal capital, as the capital of the occupation is a historic injustice, and it is terror in and of itself.”

The move came after the US froze two planned payments to UNRWA in early January 2018 for more than $100 million, and the US administration spoke about the need to reexamine and conduct a reform of the UN body. This occurred after the PA refused to negotiate with Israel and cut diplomatic ties with America following US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Dec. 6, 2017.
