Palestinian civil organizations condemn use of violence by PA security forces against protestors

Headline: “Tomorrow – calls for participation in the Remove the Sanctions activity in Ramallah”
“The Network of Palestinian Civil Organizations called today, Thursday [June 21, 2018], for extensive popular participation in the Remove the Sanctions Against Gaza activity. It said that this just demand, which enjoys a popular and national consensus, is the main way and a very important prelude to returning the national unity and ending the [Fatah-Hamas] rift. The network demanded today, Thursday, that the Palestinian [PA] government apologize for repressing the peaceful protest in Ramallah on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, which came out with a demand to remove the sanctions that are being imposed on Gaza. It also demanded that the government apologize for the fact that the [PA] Security Forces dragged, struck, and arrested demonstrators while in civilian clothes, which did not allow the demonstrators to distinguish between them and a group of ‘bullies’ who cursed journalists, accused [them] of treachery, and struck, attacked, and harassed them. In its statement the network also referenced the raids conducted on the hospitals, the striking of the wounded, and them being taken to detention from within the hospitals, and also demanded that the apology especially include the Palestinian women who were attacked in a most shameful and disgraceful manner, according to it… In addition, the network condemned the extensive incitement campaign against the institutions of the Palestinian civil society by PA figures and leaders, and particularly by Nablus District Governor Akram Al-Rajoub as a representative of [PA] President [Mahmoud] Abbas.”
