Islamic official on “invasions” of the Temple Mount by "alleged Temple organizations": "The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is… an Islamic mosque and the Jews have no connection to it"

Official PA TV News, on the Islamic Endowments Department warning against increased Jewish visits to the Temple Mount during Hanukkah

Official PA TV reporter: “[There have been] numerous calls and pamphlets from the alleged Temple organizations through their websites to increase the invasion of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on what is called ‘the Jewish Festival of Lights’ [Hanukkah] that begins next week, which led the Islamic Endowments Department to warn against the consequences of these calls that indicate the continuation of the occupation’s attempts to ignite the fuse of religious war.”
Head of the Supreme Council of Islamic Endowments Sheikh Abd Al-Azim Salhab: “We say that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is our mosque. It is an Islamic mosque and the Jews have no connection to it. These invasions are an attack on the sanctity of this mosque, on the Muslims, and on the freedom of worship at their blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

"Alleged Temple organizations" refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Institute, the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site.

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
