Preacher at Al-Aqsa Mosque: “Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are subject to renewed danger… by erasing the characteristics of the holy city and changing its Islamic Arab identity, falsifying its history”

Headline: “50,000 civilians prayed on Friday at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Israeli occupation flew gliders over the blessed mosque”
“Fifty-thousand civilians held Friday prayers yesterday [Feb. 2, 2019] at the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas, in the shadow of steps that the occupation took at the gates of the blessed mosque and within the streets of the occupied Old City [of Jerusalem]. Friday preacher Sheikh Ismail Nawahda said that ‘Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are going through a cultural, historical, humanitarian, and geographic nakba (catastrophe).’ He added that ‘Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are subject to renewed danger these days, and we are witness to dangerous steps by the occupation that cannot be taken lightly, amid an exploitation of the situation in the region. This is by erasing the characteristics of the holy city [Jerusalem] and changing its Islamic Arab identity, falsifying its history, and reducing the Palestinian presence in it.’”
