Abbas’ advisor denies existence of Jewish Temple in Jerusalem; calls Trump and his advisor “foolish youths”

Supreme Shari’ah Judge, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash: “The hoopoe bird came to [King] Solomon – and if we had enough time, brothers, we would take from the story of Solomon and the hoopoe bird, which confirms that Solomon, peace be upon him, was never in Palestine, and was not in Jerusalem at all, and that there is no Temple in Palestine or anywhere. We could take this from these verses, but at another opportunity, because this requires a certain [time] extension. But on our topic today: The hoopoe bird came and said to Solomon ‘I have come to you from Sheba with certain news. Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them… I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah’ [Quran, Sura 27:22-24, Sahih International translation]…
Take a lesson from [the Quran] regarding the events of the last two days: promises, gifts, and billions, and honorable [US Presidential Advisor Jared] Kushner wants to give us 50 billion [dollars], of course (refers to proposal made at the US-led conference in Bahrain in June 2019 focusing on economic aspects of US President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan –Ed.). From where? From the Arabs. He isn’t paying from his father’s money. He also wants to bring us [money] from the Arabs. From the Arabs – it’s better that we request [money] from the Arabs. If this youth, Kushner– and he is a youth, by the way, and his President [Trump] is also a youth, because this is the time of the foolish youths.
When it comes to Palestine, Jerusalem, and justice, we say what Solomon said: ‘Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you’ [Quran, Sura 27:36, Sahih International translation]. What has Allah given us? He gave us faith, confidence. He gave us the connection with Him, and the Quran. And He gave us Jerusalem.”
