PA district governor glorifies “heroic Martyr” Saddam Hussein

Al-Rajoub conveyed the president’s blessings to the family of fighter Omar Ali, who answered the call of the pan-Arab obligation to defend Palestine and led the battle to defend Jenin. By doing so, he and his comrades rejected the occupation’s tyranny against our people. He and his comrades led the battle to defeat the occupation…

Al-Rajoub brought up the memory of heroic Martyr [former President of Iraq] Saddam Hussein, who always stood proudly in defense of Palestine, like the Martyrs who defend our Arabness and Arab nationalism.

Al-Rajoub emphasized the positions of Martyr Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi people in favor of the Palestinian people. He noted that these positions are a source of pride for the Palestinian people.”

Jenin Battle 1948 - one of the battles on the northern front in the Israeli War of Independence, fought against Iraqi army forces aided by local fighters. Israel originally had the upper hand in the battle in June 1948, but in the end suffered heavy losses and retreated from the area.

Saddam Hussein - former President of Iraq, who was convicted by an Iraqi court and executed in 2006 for ordering the Dujail massacre in Iraq in which 148 people were murdered. In order to expedite his execution, it was decided not to prosecute him for other crimes he committed.
