Head of Palestinian Football Association: Football league is in danger

Official PA TV News

Fatah Central Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association Jibril Rajoub: "There was no choice but to hold this meeting in order to discuss the future prospects and to act to provide the minimum that can be fuel for the continuation of the league. This of course requires the political echelon’s will, which is what I investigated two days ago with His Honor [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas], and also the private sector’s wish to invest and provide security nets, in addition to a willingness on the part of the clubs to do everything they can in order to guarantee sponsors and donors to continue the path of sport, as I said, in light of the difficult circumstances. If we do not succeed in guaranteeing at least 50% of what there was in the previous seasons, there will be a problem, and the continuation of the league will be endangered.”

Jibril Rajoub also holds the positions of Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).
