PA Mufti: Jerusalem and holy sites are “under attack,” prisoners are suffering from “medical negligence”

Headline: “Amman: The [PA] mufti participates in a conference on Jerusalem”

“Grand [PA] Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque Muhammad Hussein participated in a regional conference that was held in Amman on ‘The Cultural and Natural Heritage in Jerusalem: Reality and Challenges,’ which was held by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Popular National Congress of Jerusalem, in coordination with the Jordanian Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs…

The mufti presented a working paper to the conference entitled ‘Jerusalem’s Status and Significance and the Dangers That It Faces.’ In it he explained the priority that Jerusalem receives, its status, and the many dangers to which it is subjected… and especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the dangers to whose existence are growing due to the daily attacks that it suffers. The most dangerous of them is the extensive break-ins into its plaza by the Zionist extremists and senior officials, their security force members, and their police officers. On the sidelines of the conference, he met with official and popular delegations and figures from among the participants and briefed them on the recent developments in the Palestinian arena, the most prominent of which is what the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is suffering, the issue of the heroic prisoners… and the policy of medical negligence, whose most recent victim was the death as a Martyr of prisoner Bassam Al-Sayeh (i.e., terrorist, involved in murder of 2) in the occupation’s prison… In his conversations, he also touched on the excavations and daily break-ins into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the ongoing attacks against its guards, its loyal people, and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic) in its plaza… in addition to the hostile attack against the other Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Muhammad Hussein also serves as Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman and Deputy Secretary-General and acting Secretary-General of the PLO Popular National Conference of Jerusalem.

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.

Bassam Al-Sayeh – Palestinian terrorist who authorized and raised funds for the shooting attack by a Hamas terror cell in which Israelis Naama and Eitam Henkin (also an American citizen) were murdered on Oct. 1, 2015, in front of their four children, aged 9, 7, 4, and 4 months. Al-Sayeh was arrested on Oct. 8, 2015, and died in prison of cancer – a pre-existing condition from before his arrest – on Sept. 8, 2019.
