Op-ed: Israel spreads weapons among Israeli Arabs and drugs among Palestinians

Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “Netanyahu and Erdan are the real murderers”

“The ugly killing war in the name of blood revenge, revenge, or the most insignificant reasons there could be that is taking place among our people in the 1948 territories (i.e., Israeli Arabs) is not the result of a coincidence and is not connected to the composition and culture of the Palestinian people, and if this has a role, it cannot be ignored and is also not a result of poverty and commercialization. The reason is much more basic, and it is the role of the Israeli security establishment in deepening the abyss of the conflicts between the Palestinians, distributing unlimited weapons within Palestinian society in the Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel), not pursuing the criminals, spreading the phenomenon of anarchy and security chaos, pouring oil on the flames of revenge operations, and spreading drugs in the Palestinian cities and villages. This is along with the spread of supporters of the Zionist  parties, whose activity reaches the level of treason by implementing the policies and plans of these parties, which constitute the impetus of the Zionist movement and its colonialist project and a tool of its security and military institutions to eliminate the Palestinian presence in the land of the forefathers by pushing their affiliates to do stupid things and commit crimes of killing with no moral, ethical, national, or religious reservations. This is particularly so in light of the fact that the representatives of these ‘Zionist’ forces know how to benefit from a few despicable and opportunistic Palestinians – dealers in the national conscience and identity – joining the Zionist slave market in order to commit the most cheap, cowardly, and criminal murders against their own for insignificant reasons, without any reason, or by inventing false worthless reasons that could easily have been resolved without anyone’s intervention.”
