Op-ed: Israel was created by Western states to destroy the Arab world; CIA and Mossad create civil wars

Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “Solidarity Day – a victory for justice”

“Today [Nov. 29, 2018] is the 41st anniversary of the ratification of Resolution 32/40B by the UN General Assembly (sic., the resolution is from Dec. 2, 1977). This resolution considers November 29 of every year as a day of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The UN vote on International Day of Solidarity with Palestine (sic., with the Palestinian People) on the same date that the UN voted on the cruel and unfair Partition Resolution No. 181… which  paved the way for the establishment of the Israeli colonialist state – the same rogue state that was created by the Western capitalist states in historical Palestine in order to serve as a base for a project at the center of the Arab world to plunder its resources, tear it apart from within, and prevent its revival, development, and unity – was nothing but recognition of the justice of the Palestinian cause…

Today is the anniversary, at a time when the dirty American-Israeli war is escalating. The goal of this war is to eliminate the Palestinian cause through what is called the immoral ‘deal of the century’ (refers to US President Donald Trump’s as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan –Ed.)… while exploiting the complex and difficult situation that the Palestinian cause is currently in, and that the region and peoples of the Arab nation are in…

This is in addition to the civil wars that were created by the American security services, the CIA, the Israeli Mossad (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service), and by the [security] and financial services of several Arab states that are connected to the criminal plot. They have activated their pawn, the Muslim Brotherhood Movement. This began in practice at the end of 2010, and [the Muslim Brotherhood] emitted from its foul-smelling womb all of the corrupt organizations that accuse the other of heresy in the name of Islam.”

UN Resolution 181 (the UN partition plan for Palestine) was passed by the UN General Assembly in 1947. It called for the partition of the British Mandate of Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states, with Jerusalem as a separate entity under the rule of a special international body. The Arab state was meant to be comprised of the western Galilee, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, and the remaining territory of the Mandate west of the Jordan River would be the state of Israel - Jordan (known at the time as Transjordan) had already been established in what had been the part of the Mandate that was east of the Jordan River. The resolution was accepted by the Jewish Agency for Palestine, but Arab leaders and governments rejected it, and launched a war to destroy Israel.
