PA Mufti warns against establishment of American hospital in Gaza

Headline: "The [PA] grand mufti calls on our people in Gaza not to cooperate with the American hospital"

"[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Muhammad Hussein warned against the consequences of the establishment of the so-called American hospital on land in the northern Gaza Strip. He called on our people that is resolved and carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic) in Gaza not to cooperate with this hospital.

Sheikh Hussein explained in a press statement… that [the hospital] is not very different from the Al-Dirar Mosque that Blessed Allah commanded to destroy and forbade his Messenger [Muhammad], peace be upon him, to stay in because it hid within it corruption of the [Islamic] religion, the believers, and their worship (i.e., Muhammad destroyed the Dirar Mosque in Medina due to suspicions it was built to undermine Islam).

He noted that the American hospital is being established at a time when the US is denying our resolved people political and financial assistance; giving the settlers our land as a gift; conspiring against our Jerusalem and against our holy sites; imposing financial sanctions on our economy, hospitals, and institutions; and fighting UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East); and therefore an intelligent person cannot believe that this project is free of suspicion and hostile politicization."
