PA: Cable car in Jerusalem part of Israel's "Judaizing" projects to "distort the historical and cultural narrative of the city into another narrative"

Headline: "The [PA] Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities: The construction of a cable car in Jerusalem will destroy its heritage and historical character"

"The [PA] Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities condemned the fact that the Israeli occupation authorities approved a cable car construction project in the Old City of Jerusalem (sic. it will be outside the Old City, having a stop outside the Dung Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City), which is considered one of the largest Judaizing settlement projects that the occupation authorities are carrying out in the holy city [of Jerusalem] in an effort to establish its Judaizing settlement policy in the city and the imposition of new facts on the ground…

The ministry emphasized that this project will have severe negative effects on the Old City of Jerusalem and its walls, which have been included in the [UNESCO] World Heritage List since 1981… It will also assist the settlement institutions to take absolute ownership of the tourist traffic and to distort the historical and cultural narrative of the city into another narrative whose goal is to strengthen the Zionist colonialist presence in the Old City of Jerusalem and impose illegal Israeli sovereignty over it."
