Shari'ah Judge Nasser Al-Qirem: "The Arab and Islamic nation has no choice [but] to stand by the people of Palestine. This is not a choice, but rather an obligation and Shari'ah law. Jerusalem and Palestine are the responsibility and trust of every Muslim… and anyone who does not stand alongside Palestine and its people violates the responsibility and betrays Allah, His Messenger [Muhammad], and all of the Muslims… We have the pleasure of resisting, carrying out Ribat, dying as Martyrs, and being imprisoned for this land. We have Martyrs, we have wounded, we have prisoners, and we have people carrying out Ribat. Praise and thanks to Allah for this kindness… “The hour (i.e., Resurrection) will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews.” Where is the battle? “You are to the east of the river, and they to the west of it. Until the stones and trees speak and say: ‘O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!’ – except for the Gharqad tree that is the tree of the Jews.” When they want to take control of the valleys, they plant the Gharqad tree in Palestine that was occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel). It will not help them. Victory is ours, Allah willing."

The Gharqad tree ("the tree of the Jews", mentioned in the "stone and tree" Hadith) The story of a stone or tree beckoning a Muslim to kill a Jew appears in numerous Islamic texts. One example is the following Hadith from the Sahih Muslim book of Hadith: “Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon Him) as saying: ‘The last hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them until the Jews hide behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or a tree will say: “Muslim, or servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him”; but the Gharqad tree will not say [this], for it is the tree of the Jews.’”
