PA: “In every tune – a bullet, in every lyric – a rifle”

  • “My machine gun and my bullets are the path to salvation” – PA highlights songs about bullets and rifles

  • “Pull along the cannon, self-sacrificing fighter… I will carve my path with my blood”

  • “A self-sacrificing fighter carried the rifle and went out towards the Zionists”

The PA’s “hit parade” in the PA TV program Tune of the Homeland continues to promote songs that romanticize, stress, and even promote the “armed struggle” and the use of violence and terror against Israel. Recently the narrator of the PA’s quiz program about “national songs” even highlighted the beauty of these songs:

Official PA TV narrator: “We play the most beautiful tunes
And in every tune – a bullet
And in every lyric – a rifle”

And true enough, the specific song in question included both a machine gun and bullets – both said to lead to “salvation”:

Official PA TV narrator: “Because songs are a basic part of our culture and they express our national identity… and because these songs are present in our consciousness and still fascinate us with values and meanings… It’s here: ‘The Tune of the Homeland.’”

Lyrics: “My machine gun is in my hand, and I want to continue marching
Our occupied land will not return for free
I want to continue marching, I want to continue marching
My machine gun and my bullets are the path to salvation”

Official PA TV narrator: “We play the most beautiful tunes
And in every tune – a bullet
And in every lyric – a rifle

Who is the composer of the song “My machine gun is in my hand”?

Lyrics: My machine gun is my comrade, my brother, and my friend

[Official PA TV, The Tune of the Homeland,
March 13 (twice), 14, 15 (three times), 16 (twice), 17, 2021]

Another song underscored that “self-sacrifice” and giving one’s blood for the cause is a value: “I will carve my path with my blood”:

Lyrics: “Pull along the cannon, self-sacrificing fighter
Do not wait for the vehicle [to pull it]
The Zionists have brought more than 100 planes against us
We are your people, Palestine, by Allah
We do not fear attacks
Pull the Dushka [machine gun], comrade
I will carve my path with my blood”

[Official PA TV, The Tune of the Homeland,
March 19, 20 (twice), 21, 23 2021]

A third song recently featured on the program also stressed the “self-sacrifice” and the use of violence against “the Zionists”:

Lyrics: “A self-sacrificing fighter carried the rifle and went out towards the Zionists
So that the land of the ancestors would return to you free…
A self-sacrificing fighter carried the rifle – our rifle is Palestinian”

[Official PA TV, The Tune of the Homeland,
Feb. 27, 28 (twice), March 1 (twice), 3 (three times), 2021]

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed that the songs featured on Tune of the Homeland stress “values” such as offering one’s blood for “Palestine” in the fight against the “enemy,” and center on a theme of “cannons,” “rifles,” and “bullets.”

The Tune of the Homeland is a quiz program on official PA TV ‎playing highly violent pro-terror songs, which is often broadcast during the ‎‎4:00-5:00 p.m. time slot for children's programming on official PA TV. The ‎broadcast of songs promoting hate and violence immediately after animated ‎children's shows should not be seen as a coincidence, but rather as part of ‎the PA's indoctrination of children.
