“In the coming days occupation [Israeli] Army Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi and Army Minister (sic., Israeli Minister of Defense) Benny Gantz are expected to approve a request submitted by the PA to transfer tens of thousands of doses of the Coronavirus vaccine to the Gaza Strip.

The [Israeli news] website Walla revealed that senior PA officials spoke with the senior Israeli security officials [regarding] approval and aid.

The decision comes on the background of a petition submitted by the family of captive soldier Hadar Goldin, in which they demanded that Israel not transfer the vaccines to the Gaza Strip until the return of the bodies of the soldiers and the Israeli citizens that are being held by Hamas.

The request that was sent to Israel a number of days ago relates to vaccines that the PA purchased with its own money, or vaccines that it received as a donation from the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union (EU), and Russia…

Senior officials who are knowledgeable about the details said that ‘Israel agreed and aided in transferring medical equipment to the hospitals in the Gaza Strip in the different waves of the Coronavirus.’ They added that ‘The Coronavirus vaccines are no different from flu vaccines and regular medicines.’”
