Palestine Democratic Union calls on PA to get Security Council recognition of a Palestinian state

“FIDA [the Palestine Democratic Union, breakaway faction of the DFLP, previously headed by Yasser Abd Rabbo] demanded of the countries and governments of the world, on the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, to announce support for the decision to count Palestine as a permanent member of the UN, and that the borders of June 4th, 1967, would be the borders of the independent Palestinian state, and that East Jerusalem would be its capital.
… FIDA also called upon the Palestinian leadership not to wait for the results of these contacts [peace talks], and to appeal immediately to the international Security Council… to approve [the resolution] that the borders of June 4th, 1967, are the borders of the independent Palestinian state, and that East Jerusalem is its capital, and the acceptance of Palestine as a permanent member of the UN.”
