A kid called Eichmann

  • Official PA daily praises Palestinian who named his son Eichmann “to anger Zionism”

The ways Palestinians can “resist” and “fight” Israel seem to be unlimited. One such way, which was praised by the official PA daily, is to give your child a name that “angers Zionism.”

You can name your child Eichmann, for example!

In the following story, the official PA daily praised a Palestinian “fighting family” for its “love of the struggle” against Israel through generations. Recounting the many ways different members of the Abu Atwan family have “struggled,” the paper highlighted the fact that one of the men named his son “Eichmann” after Adolf Eichmann, a high ranking officer in the Nazi SS and one of the major architects of the genocide of over 6,000,000 of the Jews of Europe:

Out of his love for his homeland, he gave birth to a son and gave him the name Eichmann to anger Zionism. After the Mossad (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service) executed Adolf Eichmann, [Al-Ghadanfar’s] grandfather said: ‘The one who burned the Jews out of hatred has passed on, and the Palestinian Eichmann has been born.’”

Palestinian Media Watch has reported on other names given to Palestinian children that reflect the Palestinian “struggle” and venerate terror and violence against Israelis. Just hours after terrorist murderer Muhannad Halabi stabbed 2 Israelis to death at the onset of the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave, Palestinian parents named their newborn son “Muhannad” after the murderer. Also back then, the official PA paper reported enthusiastically on the choice of name:

Headline: "Muhannad the newborn hugs Muhannad the Martyr, and the two of them unite the homeland"
"Even before the Martyr Muhannad Halabi was buried... the parents of the baby decided to name their new son Muhannad Halabi after the Martyr Halabi… who was murdered by the occupation's army in occupied Jerusalem. While still in the hospital, the mother of the baby called the mother of Martyr Halabi... During the phone conversation, the two mothers cried from joy: The mother of the baby cried from joy at the birth of her baby, who eternalized the name of the hero among the heroes of our eternal people, and the second mother (i.e., of the terrorist) cried from joy at the birth of the baby that will eternalize the name of her son the Martyr."

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 6, 2015]

Similarly, the parents of a boy born during the same terror wave – by Palestinians called the “Knife Intifada” due to the many stabbing attacks - chose to name their son “Knife of Jerusalem.”

In this terror wave, Palestinian terrorists murdered 40 people (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and wounded hundreds in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks.

The following is a longer excerpt of the story about the kid that was named Eichmann “to anger Zionism”:

“Prisoner Al-Ghadanfar Abu Atwan (PMW was unable to determine the nature of his crimes -Ed.), 28, a Fatah member from the town of Dura in the Hebron district, is continuing… to raise his voice against the occupation state, its criminal policy, and its severe violations of the UN conventions, its laws, and human rights. This is despite the weakness and frailty of his body due to the unlimited hunger strike [he launched] in protest of his administrative detention. He has been detained since October 2020, and he is an officer in the [PA] customs police forces…

Prisoner Al-Ghadanfar Musa Abu Atwan is the scion of a fighting family, which historically for many decades has loved the struggle.

His grandfather participated in the revolutionary activity before the 1967Naksa (i.e., "the setback," Palestinian term for Israel's victory in the Six Day War), and he commanded armed groups. The grandfather was arrested at the end of 1967 and was sentenced to eight years in prison. In the same period, his uncle Bajes Abu Atwan (i.e., Fatah terrorist killed while fighting against Israel in 1974), who is known as ‘Abu Shanar,’ was wanted for seven years, and when he died as a Martyr the occupation’s military governor gave his body a military salute. The occupation admitted to 52 successful operations (i.e., terror attacks) by Martyr Bajes Abu Atwan.

In the same period, their home was blown up three times, and the family members lived in a Red Cross tent for three years. His aunt Haifa was arrested for nine months, and his aunt Abla for six months. His grandfather, Musa Abu Atwan, was expelled a month before his release date, and he remained in exile until his death. Out of his love for his homeland, he gave birth to a son and gave him the name Eichmann to anger Zionism. After the Mossad (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service) executed Adolf Eichmann, [Al-Ghadanfar’s] grandfather said: ‘The one who burned the Jews out of hatred has passed on, and the Palestinian Eichmann has been born.’

Eichmann followed the same path, and was arrested in 1989

Eichmann left prison and gave birth to Al-Ghadanfar, who continued the same path of struggle. It should be noted that he is the nephew of prisoner Munif Abu Atwan (i.e., terrorist, involved in murder of 4), a prisoner who was sentenced to 5 life sentences.”

Munif Abu Atwan – Islamic Jihad terrorist who was involved in the murder of 4 Israeli students at the Otniel Yeshiva (Jewish religious studies academy), south of Hebron, on Dec. 27, 2002. Abu Atwan was sentenced to 5 life sentences.
