Abbas' religious advisor lies: Israel "uses lies and falsifications in an attempt to prove some connection of the Jews" to the Temple Mount, i.e., the holiest site in Judaism

“Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash warned against the dangerous consequences of the decision that was issued by the so-called Educational Committee in the Israeli Parliament, which obligates (sic., incentivizes) the [Israeli] Ministry of Education schools to include the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) as part of the school trips of the Jewish students.

In a press release, Al-Habbash said that the occupation state is implementing all the tricks and fabrications and is using lies and falsification of the facts in an attempt to prove some kind of connection of the Jews to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., an abundance of archaeological evidence proves Jewish history on the Temple Mount), in preparation for Israel taking control of the mosque as part of the stages of Judaizing the holy city.

Al-Habbash demanded that the international community intervene urgently to restrain the ongoing Israel aggression against the Noble Jerusalem Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount) and to prevent any step that the occupation state might carry out to change the historical status at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which the international resolutions have confirmed is a pure Islamic site to which non-Muslims have no right.”

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also serves as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice. In August 2019 PA Chairman Abbas dismissed all his advisors by Presidential decree. It is unclear what their status is today.
