PA distortion: The Israeli army’s goal of protecting their own military bases is an "attempt to legitimize field executions”

Headline: “Wounded people in Beit Dajan and Kafar Qaddum; Kochavi strives to ‘legitimize’ field executions

“Occupation army Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi ordered to change the open fire orders of the occupation soldiers against people who attempt to steal a soldier’s weapon or who enter military bases in order to steal weapons and ammunition, reported the [Israeli] paper Yediot Aharonot yesterday, Friday [March 26, 2021].

The paper added that the operations branch of the Israeli occupation army and the military advocate general are working diligently on consolidating the new orders, which they are expected to present this week to Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.

The change that Kochavi is interested in is that the open fire orders not be limited to a situation in which ‘a soldier feels life threatening danger’ – a patently unclear expression – but rather that the soldiers will open fire when theft or invasion of a military base take place.”
