"We have swords in every home," threatens Fatah leader

Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi: “They did not die as Martyrs while defending their town or their family, but rather they died as Martyrs while fighting for Palestine – from Rafah to Hebron, Jenin, Jaffa, Haifa, and Lod (the last three are Israeli cities -Ed.). This is what they were defending – our children, our families, our land, and our people. These heroes who met with the heroes of Beita, Beit Dajan, Nablus, Hebron, Kafr Qaddum, and all of our villages and cities – and with Lod and Nazareth (i.e., Israeli cities) and all our villages and cities in Palestine…

It is our desire to be like them… They are now in the embrace of their leaders who are receiving them to confirm that they died as Martyrs for the sake of Palestine. They tell them: ‘O our children, give us relief regarding Palestine! Is it still the torch of the struggle? Is it still the torch of the revolution? Are there still those who defend the land and protect [its] honor?’ Then they will tell them: ‘Yes! Yes! We are defending the land with our blood and defending the honor with our blood.’ In conclusion I say Allah’s mercy on the Martyrs, may Allah have them dwell in Paradise and join us to them, Allah Almighty willing, for the sake of Palestine and the Palestinian people, and for the sake of our Arab nation… Alone we will succeed in protecting our land and our people and we will not need the swords of anyone [else]. In every home we have one of the swords of justice, which with the help of Almighty Allah will remain legitimate against the despicable occupation, which a day will come when it will leave [the land] never to return – from Hebron and from this great town, the town of the Martyrs, the prisoners.”
