Israel is "stealing" money designated for terrorists' families, claims PA Daily

Headline: “The occupation’s army minister stole money from prisoners and Martyrs’ families”

“Israeli occupation Army Minister (sic., Minister of Defense) Benny Gantz signed four orders yesterday, Tuesday [Oct. 6, 2020],stealing the money that the PA transferred to prisoners in the occupation’s prisons and to families of Martyrs (i.e., Gantz ordered to seize salaries paid by the PA and Hamas to terrorists and their families).

The [Israeli] paper The Jerusalem Post said on its website yesterday that the decisions 'targeted funds transferred by the Palestinian Authority to Palestinian prisoners and families of Palestinians who were killed during attacks’ (see below for the full original quote –Ed.).

The [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs condemned this theft. The commission said in a statement that these signings come as part of an escalation of the piracy and theft of much money from the families of the Martyrs and the prisoners, which they receive in order to provide a minimum of life in dignity and to overcome the difficulties of life, which the occupation is their sole cause and factor…

The commission called on the international community to come out of its embarrassing silence and work immediately to put an end to the occupation’s crimes against the families of the Martyrs and the prisoners, because this silence will give the occupation gangs a green light to continue their crimes and their escalation.

The full quote from The Jerusalem Post article, as it appeared on the paper’s English website on Oct. 6, 2020, is as follows: “The orders targeted funds transferred by both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority to Palestinians serving prison sentences in Israeli jails for terror attacks, as well as to family members of terrorists who were killed during the attacks.”
