Jerusalem "belongs only to believers of the religion of Islam" says PA Daily

Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs

Headline: “Consequences of the flag march”

“This Israeli insistence… on holding the demonstration to burn [the Israeli presence] into the Palestinian consciousness (refers to Jerusalem Day flag march on May 29, 2022 -Ed.)… requires the [Palestinian] leadership, people, factions, and cultural, media, academic, religious, and economic elite to mobilize all national efforts… to defend [Jerusalem’s] Palestinian-Arab identity and character, and to wave Palestinian flags above every home, school, institute, street, hospital, mosque, church, cemetery, and market. This is in order to emphasize… that it has been Palestinian since it was established 5,000 years ago (sic., the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period)… and to inform the entire world without exception that Jerusalem is Jerusalem of the Arab Palestinians, and that the Al-Aqsa Mosque – including the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount) – belongs only to believers of the religion of Islam… and also to expel from it the Zionist herds who are stealing the Palestinian landand Judaism to their lairs, until it will be liberated peacefully or through other means of struggle (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror).”

The Al-Buraq Wall - Islam's Prophet Muhammad is said to have ridden during his Night Journey from Mecca to "al aqsa mosque", i.e., "the farthest mosque" (Quran, Sura 17), and there tied his miraculous flying steed named Al-Buraq to a "stone" or a "rock." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Book 47, Hadith 3424). In the 1920's, Arab Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini decided to identify the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem as that "rock" or "stone," and since then Muslims refer to the Western Wall as the "Al-Buraq Wall."

The terms “all means,” “all means of resistance,” “all forms,” are ‎used by PA leaders to include using all types of violence, including deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as stabbings and shootings, as well as throwing rocks and Molotov Cocktails.
