PLO official claims Israel plans to “destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged Temple”

Headline: “The Turkish New Welfare Party receives a delegation from the ‘For Palestine’ campaign led by Al-Tamimi”

“At its offices in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, the [Turkish] New Welfare Party received a delegation from the ‘For Palestine’ campaign led by PLO Executive Committee member Ahmed Sa’id Al-Tamimi…

[New] Welfare Party Deputy Chairman Doğan Beki̇n welcomed the Palestinian delegation, and emphasized that Palestine is a red line that must not be crossed…

He added: ‘We have held five conferences on the issue of Palestine, the latest of which was on the topic of the Jenin refugee camp and the occupation’s crime against the members of the Palestinian people. The New Welfare Party in the Turkish Parliament held a conference on Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque after the occupation government raised the issue of destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque and building the alleged Temple (sic., PMW found no evidence for this claim). We declared our support for Palestine and announced that we will not allow the harming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. We are talking with [Turkish] President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan especially about Palestine.’

Bekin explained that Israel is spreading fabricated and false reports in order to falsify the matter of the Uyghur Muslims. He also said that you can clearly see the double standards, as Israel built a children’s hospital named after [former Israeli Prime Minister] Golda Meir in Ukraine, while it is murdering children in Palestine…

Al-Tamimi said: ‘We came to you from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where every day violations and invasions are being committed against it by settlers and soldiers of the occupation, the same occupation that is determined to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the Temple.’”

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 20, 2023]

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
