Awadallah claims the ICC complaints platform will help stop Israel’s “ongoing daily crimes”

Official PA TV News

Official PA TV newsreader: “Deputy [PA] Minister of Foreign Affairs on the UN and its Institutions Omar Al-Awadallah noted that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has launched an electronic platform, which will enable the [Palestinian] civilians to submit complaints based on pictures and video clips showing the occupation’s crimes against them, in order to submit them to the ICC to examine them and receive a deterring and restraining position towards Israel. In his statements to [the official PA] radio [station] The Voice of Palestine, Al-Awadallah noted that the Israeli government is firm in its racist policy and is ignoring all the international conventions that explicitly demand to give urgent protection to our people. Al-Awadallah emphasized that there is a need for constant contact with the international community to take a deterring position towards Israel in order to stop its ongoing daily crimes. Spokesperson [and Field Research Director] of the B’Tselem organization Karim Jubran noted the importance of documenting the crimes that the occupation forces are committing at the ICC, in spite of its laxness regarding the speed of its demand for an accounting from the war criminals in the occupation state. Jubran called on the civilians to submit their testimonies and complaints to the ICC regarding the war crimes that the occupation forces are committing, and he emphasized that these crimes are not subject to a statute of limitations. Along with this, Director of the Al-Haq Institute [for Human Rights] Sha’awan Jabarin (Al-Haq is a designated terror organization; see note below -Ed.) said that all the complaints received from the civilians in order to submit them to the ICC are meant to exert more pressure on the office of [ICC] General Prosecutor [Karim Khan], so as to force him to take care of them and examine them.”
