Top Fatah official promises: “The next and more violent [than Oct. 7] explosion will be in the West Bank”

Nan Jacques Zilberdik  |

Top Fatah official Jibril Rajoub:

  • There will be “an explosion in all the Palestinian territories” due to “neo-Nazi” Israel’s “aggression” in Gaza

  • “What happened on Oct. 7 was an earthquake, an unprecedented incident, and a war of defense full of epics and acts of heroism that the Palestinian people has been waging for 75 years”

  • Hamas’ massacre against Israel was “a defensive war… the more violent explosion will be in the West Bank”

  • Terror – “resistance” – “will continue in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and the West Bank”

  • What happened on Oct. 7wasn’t terror, but rather a response to the Israeli terror

  • Israel’s “crimes” are “the start of an explosion in all the Palestinian territories… the explosion in the West Bank is also coming”

  • In support of Hamas, all factions should “unite in battle” against Israel

  • Israel’s “neo-Nazi government” is targeting the entire “Palestinian state’s existence”

On several recent occasions, top PA and Fatah leader Jibril Rajoub has stressed his and the PA/Fatah’s support for Hamas’ attack, massacre, and atrocities on October 7:

Fatah Movement Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “What happened on Oct. 7 [2023] was an earthquake, an unprecedented incident, and a war of defense full of epics and acts of heroism that the Palestinian people has been waging for 75 years.”

[Al-Anba, Kuwaiti news website, Nov. 26, 2023]

Moreover, Rajoub has vowed that there will be “an explosion in the West Bank” that will be “more violent” than Hamas’ attack on October 7:

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: [October 7] was part of a defensive war by the Palestinians. This will certainly lead to explosions, and the next and more violent explosion will be in the West Bank. The explosion that took place on Oct. 7 is a natural response to this [Israeli] terror. Those who are in power in Israel are an example of neo-NazisHamas was, still is, and will remain part of the Palestinian political and national fabric and part of the struggle. This battle (i.e., Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror war) will be an opening point for achieving Palestinian national unity… Our goal is the establishment of the independent Palestinian state that is fully sovereign over all the Palestinian territories.”

Rajoub emphasized that what happened on Oct. 7 will be nothing compared to the coming explosions, if there will be no firm international position against this cancer (i.e., Israel).”

Rajoub has promised that terror – which Palestinians call “resistance” – will continue everywhere:

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “The American administration said that they will allow bringing in diesel [fuel] to the hospitals, to purify the water for humanitarian purposes, and with difficulty the agreement of these neo-Nazis (i.e., Israel) was achieved… There is Israeli aggression (i.e., counter-terror operation against Hamas) against an unarmed people, against a people that is subjected to occupation; every occupation brings about resistance, and resistance (i.e., violence and terror) will continue in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and the West Bank. The continuation of these crimes by the occupation (i.e., Israel) is the start of an explosion in all the Palestinian territories. I say to everyone, the explosion in the West Bank is also coming… It has been clearly revealed that even the American administration is no longer able to contain or provide defense for this aggression, this fascism, this racism, and this Nazism.”

Rajoub has also stressed several times that he and the PA/Fatah endorse Hamas and its terror, and one of the statements above shows, he views the October 7 massacre as an “opening point for achieving Palestinian national unity.”

Rajoub: “We view political Islam, and foremost among it the Hamas Movement, as part of the fabric of our struggle and our political and social fabric. We must preserve our achievements, we are a liberation project, and we are all potential Martyrs.

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: I expect of all the Palestinians in any battle – unite, unite, unite, Palestinians.Forget the story of Fatah, Hamas, Islam, or Christianity, forget [it]. We are in a battle that is targeting us all (i.e., Israeli counter-terror operation against Hamas.).”

Like many other PA and Fatah leaders, Rajoub justifies Hamas’ terror attack on Oct. 7, claiming it was a Palestinian defensive response to Israel’s “neo-Nazi government” targeting the entire “Palestinian state’s existence”:

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “This [Israeli] campaign (i.e., counter-terror operation against Hamas) is targeting the Arab and the Egyptian national security through this official terror that the government of this occupation (i.e., Israel), the neo-Nazi government, is committing… The Israeli fascist right-wingis telling you that its declared goals are to eliminate Hamas and so on and so forth, and the rest of this idle chatter, but its undeclared goals are to bury the idea of the Palestinian state’s existence… Therefore, they are targeting everything that is Palestinian, whether it is in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and even the 2 million Palestinians who are inside Israel (i.e., Israeli Arabs)…”

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed numerous statements over many years by Rajoub that show he supports terror against Israel.

Jibril Rajoub also serves as Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).

Hamas war on Israel October 2023 - At least 1,200 Israelis, including over 1,000 civilians, were murdered and over 4,800 wounded, in addition to approximately 244 who were abducted into the Gaza Strip (including 110 later released or liberated and at least 26 later killed), in a Hamas terror war that began when approximately 3,000 Hamas terrorists broke through Israel's security fence at the Gaza Strip border and launched a surprise attack, taking control of several Israeli towns and attacking a music festival on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, which fell on the Sabbath, Oct. 7, 2023. During the massacre the terrorists tortured, raped, shot, beheaded, and burned their victims alive, murdering entire families and leaving at least 21 children without parents. Hamas terrorists also fired at least 5,000 rockets at Israeli population centers. In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords to counter the Hamas terror threat. Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon joined Hamas' terror war starting from the following day, attacking Israel from the north. Occasional rocket launches and shootings continued from Lebanon throughout the war. A ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal began on Nov. 24, 2023, in which Israel agreed to release 150 terrorist prisoners, pause drone surveillance in the Gaza Strip, and allow movement between the northern and southern Gaza Strip, in return for 50 Israeli female and child hostages held by Hamas. The deal was subsequently extended with additional releases, until Hamas violated the agreement and resumed attacking on Dec. 1, 2023.

The following is a longer excerpt of one of Rajoub’s interviews above:

“Fatah Movement Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the [Palestinian] Football Association, and [PA] Minister of Youth and Sports (sic., Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports) Jibril Rajoub… noted during a press conference held by the Palestinian embassy in the State [of Kuwait]… that what happened on Oct. 7 [2023] (refers to Hamas’ invasion and massacre to launch its terror war on Israel; see note below -Ed.) was an earthquake, an unprecedented incident, and a war of defense full of epics and acts of heroism that the Palestinian people has been waging for 75 years. He explained that the Israeli aggression is not a reaction, but rather part of an around-the-clock, 365-days-a-year initiated aggression of unilateral acts of aggression against every inch [of land], every Palestinian, and all our national components in the West Bank and Gaza Strip…

He also noted that what happened on Oct. 7 exposed the false halo disseminated by the Israeli entity regarding the power of its army… In addition, what happened on Oct. 7 thwarted the Israeli right-wing plan to integrate Israel into the Middle East region separately from the Palestinian cause (refers to previous talk of a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia -Ed.)…

In response to questions on the infeasibility of carrying out the two-state solution in light of the settlement expansion, Rajoub emphasized that what happened on Oct. 7 will be nothing compared to the coming explosions, if there will be no firm international position against this cancer (i.e., Israel)…

He added: ‘We view political Islam, and foremost among it the Hamas Movement, as part of the fabric of our struggle and our political and social fabric. We must preserve our achievements, we are a liberation project, and we are all potential Martyrs.’”
