Israel is eroding the layer of rock under Al-Aqsa Mosque in attempt to destroy it

"Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Movement in the Palestinian Interior [i.e., in Israel], revealed that the Israeli occupation establishment is accelerating operations excavating a network of tunnels, which are spread under Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, using chemical substances.
He noted that the aim of using the chemical substances is to create a situation of accelerated erosion of the layer of rock which protects the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or the pillars upon which the foundations of the Mosque rest. The aim of all of this is demolition and shaking of the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as preparation for its destruction, so the alleged Temple can be built in its stead."
