Hamas publicly executes 18 suspected “collaborators”

“Yesterday [Aug. 22, 2014] armed militants executed 18 men accused of passing on information to Israel in Gaza in two [separate] groups, as confirmed by Al-Aqsa (Hamas) TV and eyewitnesses. Al-Aqsa TV announced during a news broadcast that ‘the resistance has executed 18 collaborators with the Israeli occupation.’ Witnesses told Agence France-Presse that armed and masked men, some wearing the headband of the [Izz A-Din] Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas’ military wing), shot seven people to death in front of hundreds of worshipers as they were leaving the large Al -Omari Mosque in central Gaza after the Friday prayer. Factional security sources and witnesses reported yesterday morning that 11 people had been executed near the police headquarters in central Gaza, on the same charges.”
