PA TV incited 15-year-old to murder,
says Israeli Security Agency

"In the period of time preceding the terrorist attack,”
 the murderer had watched
"PA television, which presented Israel
as a state that ‘kills Palestinian youths.’”

“Under the influence of the content he saw on television,
the minor decided to carry out a stabbing attack
in order to murder a Jewish person”
[Israeli Security Agency statement as quoted in The Jerusalem Post, Jan. 24, 2016]

PA TV lies to kids:
"Barbaric" Israel’s goal is to kill kids - so don't walk alone!
Israel is “killing people everywhere”

The statement above by the murderer of Israeli 38-year-old Dafna Meir, mother of 6, that messages transmitted on Palestinian Authority TV - incitement - are what made him go and kill an Israeli woman, underscores years of Palestinian Media Watch findings and warnings about the danger of PA government-sponsored hate and terror promotion, which continue to be emitted daily to the Palestinian public.

The 15-year-old murderer said that he wanted to kill a Jew because he saw on PA TV that Israel was murdering Palestinian youth. One example of official PA TV presenting Israel as “killing young Palestinians” is the following PA TV children’s program in which the host explicitly told Palestinian children not to walk alone, because Israel “targets children everywhere... These are barbarians, my young friends. They try to kill people for no reason”:

Official PA TV host: "The occupation [Israel] targets children everywhere. In their schools, near their homes... We must be very careful now. We are confronting the occupiers who act in a very barbaric terrorist way. They are trying to kill people everywhere. These are barbarians, my young friends. They try to kill people for no reason, who are just walking on their land. They make various accusations against them. This is called barbarity, my friends. Be very careful all the time. All children under 18, and children under 15, when you go out, your mom or dad, should accompany you, I mean that an adult should accompany you."
[Official PA TV, Nov. 13, 2015]
On Jan. 17. 2016, Morad Adais, a 15-year-old Palestinian, stabbed 38-year-old Israeli Dafna Meir to death in front of her children in her home in Otniel, south of Hebron. Adais was arrested two days later by Israeli security forces.

Complimenting the hate and demonization, PA and Fatah TV also call for killing Israelis. Fatah TV recently called for Palestinians to “ drown them in a sea of blood, kill them as you wish."

There have been numerous other examples of PA and Fatah leaders as well as hosts on PA TV accusing Israel of targeting youth. In the following, two PA TV hosts reinforced the libel  that Israel has been faking the Palestinian stabbing attacks and killing young Palestinians for no reason:

Official PA TV host 1: "Yesterday [Oct. 12, 2015] was a sad and bloody day in occupied Jerusalem: 3 Martyrs were executed [by Israel] in cold blood (i.e., terrorists who murdered 3). The photos and videos posted by activists on social media showed the cruelty and racism of the occupation as it deals with [Arab] residents of Jerusalem. The pretext is ready [in advance], the Israeli media is ready [in advance], and the Israeli version, security-wise and politically, is ready: a stabbing attempt... When the settler, the policeman, and the border policeman may suspect that they are trying to carry out a specific action, the shooting and the Israeli version are ready [in advance]..."
Official PA TV host 2: "Anyway, in the end, these are executions of [Arab] citizens. The Arab is constantly exposed to cold-blooded murder for no reason, only because he is an Arab resident of Jerusalem..."
Official PA TV host 1: "The Israeli version is always fabricated and false. Yesterday morning at the Lions’ Gate, Martyr Al-Khatib (i.e., terrorist who stabbed 1) was executed... The most recent Martyr, yesterday at a bus station, was also executed in cold blood..."
Official PA TV host 2: "Yesterday it was clear in one of the videos. After the assassination of one of the Martyrs, they [the Israelis] asked about the knife: 'Where is the knife?' There was a settler who pulled out a knife. They [the Israelis] have the knives ready in case they target someone. They have the knives ready."

Also other PA and Fatah media have expressed this libel, which has been fueling the terror in general and specifically led to the murder of Dafna Meir.

PMW has shown that PA and Fatah leaders use all communication structures at their disposal including PA TV to transmit the messages that:
With these messages, Palestinian leaders have paved the way for justifying murder of  Israelis and Jews. The current terror wave began shortly after PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas himself called Palestinians to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque against the “filthy feet” of the Jews. He indirectly called for violence when he vowed that “every drop of blood is blood spilled for Allah.”
This call has been followed up with numerous statements calling for stabbings and other attacks against Israelis, expressions of support and encouragement of such attacks and the terrorists who have been called “heroes” and “Martyrs” and have had roads and tournaments named after them.

Other ways of inciting Palestinians to kill is by way of music. One popular song describes how Palestinians are “going down from every house with cleavers and knives” toward “the enemy.”

Palestinian Media Watch has shown that in addition to presenting the libel that Israel deliberately targets innocent Palestinian kids, PA TV serves as the platform from which PA and Fatah leaders express their support for and endorsement of terror attacks, specifically mentioning stabbings. Even PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has himself endorsed stabbings by referring to them as “peaceful”:

Abbas: “No one called for this uprising (i.e., Oct. - Nov. 2015 terror campaign) and no one asked for it. It stemmed from the hearts of the young who have seen everything with their own eyes. They have seen the oppression, the settlements and they have seen the attacks by the herds of settlers, and therefore they have done what they have done (i.e., 14 killed by stabbings and shootings). We said to everyone that we want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is. That’s what this is. However, the aggression of firing bullets has come from the Israelis.”
[Official PA TV, Nov. 16, 2016]

What Abbas called “peaceful popular uprising” had at the time of his speech already included:
- 65 stabbings
- 8 shootings
- 8 car rammings
Total killed: 14
Total wounded: 167

The following are examples of other PA and Fatah leaders’ recent expressions of support for stabbings:

Fatah leader Jibril Rajoub: Terrorists, murderers are “heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian,” Fatah Central Committee is “in favor” of attacks
Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub: “Yesterday in Hebron, they escorted 17 Martyrs to burial. This is of course a source of pride for all of us. I say that whoever carried out individual acts of heroism, we in the Fatah movement bless and encourage them. We consider them heroes and a crown on the head of every Palestinian. At this point, when there is weakening and frustration, there is a group of people, beginning with our brother Muhannad Halabi (i.e., murdered 2) and ending with the last Martyr... There is a competition between individuals. This is one of the issues we need to address - are we for or against it? I say that we in the [Fatah] Central Committee have discussed this matter, and we are in favor."
[emphasis added, Official PA TV, Jan. 2, 2016]

Fatah leader Abbas Zaki praises young Palestinians for heeding PA call: “They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives”
Member of Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki: "From where did the reaction come when [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas and the political leadership announced that we cannot take it any longer, in other words, that we will not agree to a PA without authority and an occupation without cost [to Israel]? Who took action? The young from the Oslo generation who are in the prime of their youth did, [those] whom Allah chose and loved. They chose the path of Martyrdom (Shahada). Yes, they marched of their own will on the illuminated path to Paradise. They succeeded in making Israel worry, with rocks and knives, and in imposing a curfew on several parts of our occupied land, the so-called State of Israel."
[Abbas Zaki’s Facebook page, Jan. 4, 2016]

Fatah leader Abbas Zaki: Allah loves young Palestinians who stab Israelis. It is “peaceful resistance”
Member of Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki: “This is a year of challenge. We must challenge [the occupation] without fear... or by the sacrifices being made now by our young people, with rocks and knives, through which Palestinians have once again imposed a new parameter in the equation of the struggle... We are now witnessing a phenomenon called peaceful popular resistance. How? These young people, youth, believed in Allah and Allah loved them and took them to Him, but their funerals are greater than those of the leaders and the sympathy for them is great.”
[Official PA TV, Dec. 29, 2015]

Even a so-called “expert on Israeli affairs” stated on PA that knife attacks are not terror:

Palestinian expert on Israeli affairs, Shaker Shabat: “What puts Israel in an ‎embarrassing situation now, and what prevents it from dealing with the intifada, is that ‎it is individuals of a somewhat peaceful character [who carry it out]. A knife is not ‎considered a firearm and [stabbing] is not classified as an act of terror. Israel is in a ‎crisis because the one who confronts the Israeli army and the settlers is the ‎Palestinian civilian, with a knife, or even with his exposed body, or with a screwdriver ‎or scissors.”‎
[Official PA TV, Jan. 9, 2016]

Note: Presenting the Palestinian attacks as having targeted only Israeli so-called “settlers” and ‎soldiers is incorrect. Stabbing attacks have been carried out all over Israel against ‎civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.‎
