Official PA TV News

Official PA TV newsreader: "[PA] Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Malki said that the [PA] leadership intends to submit a lawsuit, according to the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas, if Britain insists on celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e. Declaration)..."
PA Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Malki: "There are several steps that we may take, including submitting lawsuits to the British, regional, and international courts against Britain over what it did 100 years ago when it gave a promise that it did not have the right to give... We say that the Balfour Promise 100 years ago was the beginning of the Palestinian disaster. This disaster is expressed primarily by the uprooting [of Palestinians] and the establishment of the Zionist entity that is the State of Israel."Click to view video

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.” In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this and made the British Mandate “responsible for putting into effect the declaration,” which led to the UN vote in 1947 and the establishment of the State of Israel.
