First prize in competition funded by U.S. and E.U. goes to drawing of Palestinian family holding AK-47 next to map of "Palestine" erasing Israel

Al-Quds, Palestinian daily  |
Headline: “Ru’a Amjad – young talent rises in professional drawing”

“Seventeen-year-old student Ru’a Amjad from the Salfit High School for Girls won first place in the "What is a Fighting Woman in Your Eyes?" competition, which was organized by the [PLO -affiliated] Women’s Technical Affairs Committee in partnership with the Salfit school…
It should be noted that the "What is a Fighting Woman in Your Eyes?" competition was held by the Women’s Affairs Technical Committee as part of the youth initiatives that it is holding in 20 regions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in order to support the political participation of women. This is part of the My Right to [My] Future project, which is being held in partnership with the CARE organization (i.e., a relief organization with US governmental funding) and with European Union funding.”

The article includes an image of Ru’a Amjad holding her drawing that won first place. The drawing shows the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel as “Palestine” together with the PA areas in the colors of the Palestinian flag, symbolizing political sovereignty over the entire area. Next to it a man, woman, and child are seen standing alongside an AK-47 assault rifle.
