PA Prisoners’ Affairs Commission’s libel: Israel “officially, systematically and legally support Jewish ‘terror’”; Jewish terror groups receive “aid and defense” from the Israeli government

As a justification for their glorification of terror, Palestinian leaders often falsely claim that Israel honors Jews who murder Palestinians – Ed.
“In a report that was published by the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs it was written that the Israeli occupation government officially, systematically, and legally supports Jewish ‘terror’ against the Palestinian people, and provides financial and political aid to the Jewish ‘terror’ organizations…
In the commission’s report it was emphasized – in response to the Israeli Parliament on June 14, 2017, approving in a first reading a bill allowing Israel to deduct amounts of money from the [tax] money [it collects] for the PA, on the pretext that they are paid as allowances (mukhassasat) to the families of the prisoners, Martyrs (Shahids), and wounded – that this step constitutes open and illegal theft of the Palestinian people’s money. It was also said that its [the step’s] strategic goal is to define the Palestinian people’s struggle and its legitimate resistance to the occupation as a crime.
The commission’s report exposed that the occupation government supports the non-profit organization Honenu, which was established in 2001 by settlers from the settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron, and that this non-profit organization provides legal and material aid to Jewish prisoners who committed acts of murder and crimes against Palestinians, and to their families. It also helps the murderer prisoners in finding work after leaving prison…
This non-profit organization receives financial aid from the government of Israel and from the budget of the state of Israel and its institutions (sic ., Honenu has non-profit status meaning donations are tax deductible, but it does not receive state funding). It appoints attorneys to represent the Israeli criminals in the Israeli courts if they are caught , and pays the monetary fines required to release them . If they are not released, it provides the family with all of its material needs .
The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs noted in its report that this non-profit organization provided aid to Israeli criminal Ami Popper , who murdered 7 Palestinian workers in 1990, and collected monetary donations for [former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak] Rabin’s murderer, Yigal Amir .
The ‘terrorist’ ‘price tag’ organizations:
In the commission’s report it was noted that the Jewish terror organizations that act under the name ‘price tag’ receive aid and defense from the government of Israel (sic., no aid is provided to individuals involved in ‘price tag’ crimes –Ed.). These organizations have committed despicable acts of ‘terror’ and revenge against members of the Palestinian people and their property, in addition to inciting to murder Palestinians. Their criminal acts were described as organized Jewish ‘terror.’ These extremist groups committed their acts without their members being pursued and arrested (sic., ‘price tag’ members are arrested and prosecuted –Ed.)
It should be noted that the Israeli human rights non-profit organization Yesh Din published a report at the beginning of 2017, in which it said that from October 2015 to November 2016 the Israeli military police carried out 262 investigations of crimes of murder whose victims were Palestinians, and in only 17 of the cases indictments were submitted. Only six ended with prison sentences, which ranged from several weeks to a few months.
The governmental and legal support for the murderer of Abd Al-Fattah Al-Sharif (i.e., Palestinian terrorist, wounded 1):
The government of Israel, led by Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu, stood by the side of Israeli soldier [Elor] Azaria, who executed Palestinian Martyr Abd Al-Fattah Al-Sharif after he was wounded and fell to the ground on March 24, 2016, in Hebron. The Israeli military court gave him a light sentence of just 18 months of imprisonment.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and many ministers and Israeli Parliament members announced their support for pardoning the soldier murderer. During his trial they expressed solidarity with his family, and wide-scale campaigns were organized demanding his release… (Other Israeli officials demanded a trial and punishment if found guilty –Ed.)
The commission said: ‘The government of Israel praises the Jewish murderers. It established a monument in memory of [Baruch] Goldstein (sic., the monument was erected by Goldstein’s supporters and was later dismantled by the Israeli government, which further passed a law against such monuments –Ed.) who carried out the massacre at the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs), and it viewed occupation soldiers who arbitrarily and summarily executed Palestinians as national heroes.’”
Elor Azaria - a 20-year-old sgt. and combat medic in the Israeli army who shot 21-year-old Palestinian terrorist Abd Al-Fattah Al-Sharif in the head as he lay wounded on the ground and killed him in Hebron on March 24, 2016, shortly after Al-Sharif, together with 21-year-old terrorist Ramzi Aziz Al-Qasrawi, had stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier. Al-Qasrawi was shot and killed during the attack. Azaria has stated that he shot Al-Sharif because he saw him moving and thought he might have a bomb on him and be trying to detonate it - other sources, including a Magen David Adom investigative committee and a military criminal investigator, have confirmed that this possibility had not been ruled out. The shooting and killing was filmed by a Palestinian activist of the NGO B’Tselem. Azaria was condemned by many Israeli politicians and officials following the incident, particularly then Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, and Azaria was put on trial on charges of manslaughter. Azaria was convicted of manslaughter in January 2017 and sentenced to 18 months in prison. Azaria is appealing the conviction.
Cave of the Patriarchs massacre - On Feb. 25, 1994, Baruch Goldstein, a member of an Israeli far-right movement, opened fire on Muslims praying inside the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, known to Muslims as the "Ibrahimi Mosque," killing 29 and wounding 125. Following the attack, which was widely condemned by Israeli leaders and Jewish communities abroad, the Israeli government took concrete steps to prevent similar attacks from occurring by dividing the area of worship into Muslim and Jewish sections and designating several extremist movements, including Goldstein’s, as illegal terrorist groups.
