PA daily op-ed writer proud her daughter wants to die as a Martyr

Headline: “This is Palestine, oh little one”
Op-ed by Samaa Hassan, appeared on “The morning tweet” - a daily column with changing authors
        “I was extremely happy when I saw my young daughter shed tears, as she held her novel mobile phone and watched, using its advanced technologies, a video about one of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs. The camera panned around, showing his home, his personal belongings.
The stifled tears continued to flow from the little one’s eyes, until suddenly she stood up on the couch as though bitten by a scorpion and shouted: ‘Mom, I want to die as a Martyr. I want to carry out a Martyrdom operation (i.e., terror attack) in order to kill some Israeli soldiers.’
More than they filled me with fear, my daughter’s words filled me with joy, and I felt joyous because I could see myself during the days of the Stone Intifada (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel, 1987-1993). I was 17 at the time, that is, I was two years older than her, but I had the same youthful, fervent fighting spirit, forged from the love of Palestine, and we would leave school and cheer for Palestine and repeat the one and only slogan: ‘In spirit, in blood, we will redeem you, O Palestine.’
My little one was glad, and I said to her, hugging her: ‘Long live those past days,’ and she is the one who used to [jokingly] scold me for being old-fashioned, and although she thinks that of me, something great unites us, for me and my daughter have dedicated our souls to it – to Palestine. My daughter decorated her phone with all the pictures she could find of the freedom Martyrs killed in the last few days, and I was very happy when she brought me an article about a father in Gaza had named his newborn baby Muhannad after Martyr Muhannad Halabi, the Martyr of the Jerusalem operation (i.e., terror attack, 2 killed, see note). Gaza is and always has been this way, since we [Palestinians] share the sentiments of our sisters all over Palestine, and our demand is one, far removed from all the political wrangling, and from all those who try to divide the homeland into [a number of] small states.”

Muhannad Halabi killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
