“Hitler was sent to punish the Jews for denying the Quaran, a Palestinian preacher told his audience in a sermon delivered at the contested Beduin village of Khan al-Ahmar, according to right-wing NGO Palestinian Media Watch.
Broadcast on the Palestinian Authority's official television channel, the unidentified preacher emphasized that the Jews refused to heed the message of Allah.
‘Proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied (Quran),’ the preacher said according to Palestinian Media Watch's translation. ‘The occupation government hasn't learned from history, from the corruption of the Children of Israel the first and second time...They didn't learn from what Hitler did to them, and the kings of Europe, and Spain - they didn't learn.’
The pastor also mentions the destruction of the Temple at the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar and the siege of Jerusalem commanded by Roman Emperor Titus.
He concluded with a condemnation of ‘the Jewish mentality:’
‘They have continued to behave the same way: The mentality of arrogance toward other people,’ he said. ‘The mentality of superiority over other people. The mentality of seclusion, the mentality of settlement. This mentality, an ideology of planning and systematically working to incite wars and strife in the entire world. Those [Jews] have not learned from the events of history.’
The antisemitic message appeared on PA TV last Friday.
The preacher spoke at the Beduin village of Khan al-Ahmar, which is slated for destruction. On Saturday, the village's forced evacuation was indefinitely delayed in an attempt to negotiate with the residents.
According to Palestinian Media Watch, a similar message vilifying Jews appeared in a PLO children's magazine and another PA TV sermon earlier this month. The previous sermon stated that Jews ‘dance and live on the body parts of others.’”
