Israel is a colonialist implant
The PA created an odious alternative history to denigrate the rebirth of the State of Israel and deny Israel’s right to exist. Since Jews, they say, never had a history in the Land of Israel and therefore never would have started the Zionist movement on their own, an imaginative story had to be created to explain Jewish renaissance in Israel. Accordingly, they teach that Jews were so evil in every country they inhabited for thousands of years that the nations of the world were forced to persecute and often expel them – as acts of self-defense. According to the PA libel, the repeated persecutions and expulsions of Jews are proof that the world agrees about the evil nature of Jews. Britain and Europe were suffering last century from their Jews in their countries, and therefore created Zionism in order to be rid of their Jewish “burden.” The Land of Israel was chosen by the Europeans, in this scenario, as the place to send the Jews in order to control and steal the “natural resources” of the Middle East. This is what the PA is referring to in its schoolbooks and official media when they refer to Israel as an imperialist colonial implant.

This article is an early expression of this ideology in the official PA daily in 1998:
“The difference between Hitler and [British Foreign Minister] Balfour was simple: the former [Hitler] did not have colonies to send the Jews so he destroyed them, whereas Balfour… [turned] Palestine into his colony and sent the Jews. Balfour is Hitler with colonies, while Hitler is Balfour without colonies. They both wanted to get rid of the Jews… Zionism was crucial to the defense of the West’s interests in the region, [by] ridding Europe of the burden of its Jews.”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 6, 1998]

This video is a recent expression of this PA ideology, on PA TV:
“Europe, led by Britain, founded Israel... We, as Arabs, as negotiators, as Palestinians when we meet with Europeans [should say]: 'You created and implanted a thieving entity upon Palestinian land...' As they implanted [Jews here] they got rid of [Jews there] and I do not wish to elaborate on this. The Jews in the time of Herzl caused European societies to lose sleep. They wanted to be rid of them, and implanted them in Palestine."

PA Prime Minister: Murderer of 3-month-old was a "Martyr" who fell victim to the "occupation’s colonialist, settlement, and racist policy"

Report on a PA government meeting held on Oct. 28, 2014.
“[PA Prime Minister Rami] Hamdallah spoke about his and his entourage’s visit to Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock, and the Santa Anna Church near the Lions’ Gate, and about the visit of the European consuls to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He warned against the danger of the aggressive criminal escalation against our people and its holy sites, and against the widespread settlement plans being carried out by the extreme right-wing occupation government in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories. Likewise, he warned against the actions of the occupation army, which suppresses the peaceful demonstrations and protests against the occupation’s colonialist, settlement, and racist policy, which has recently led to the death as a Martyr (Shahid) of young Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi (20) from the town of Silwan (i.e., a neighborhood in Jerusalem), and the death as a Martyr of the boy Urwa Abd Al-Wahab Hammad (14) (i.e., killed by Israeli soldiers as he was about to throw a Molotov cocktail) from the town of Silwad…
The government emphasized that the purpose of this aggressive and dangerous escalation is to turn the conflict into a religious war in the region, and that Jerusalem is a red line.”

Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi - On Oct. 22, 2014, Al-Shaloudi from East Jerusalem deliberately ran over people waiting at a light-rail station in Jerusalem with his car, killing three-month-old Israeli-American Haya Zissel-Brown and Karen Mosquera, 22, of Ecuador, and injuring 7 others. He was shot by police while attempting to flee, and later died of his wounds.

Headline: “Israel and ISIS – two sides of the same coin”
Excerpt of op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, in his regular column in the official PA daily
“Historically, Israel and those who stand behind it were a seed for the growth of all the Takfir (i.e., the act of accusing other Muslims of heresy) streams, and directly contributed to the creation of the appropriate ground for the horizontal and vertical spread of these organizations. Despite the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood was established before the establishment of the State of Israel, there was a deep connection between its establishment in 1928, and its adoption by Britain, the state that received the Palestinian mandate, and the plan for the dismantlement of the Arab region. The goals of this plan were primarily to establish what was created by the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916… and that the Muslim Brotherhood would assist in the birth of the Hebrew state. This was as this organization, depending on its religious aspect, its battle with the nation state, its refusal to cooperate with the national liberal and left-wing political forces, and its adoption of the Islamic Caliphate option, created the right environment for the establishment of a ‘homeland’ for the Jews in Palestine…
The integration between the Western colonialism and the establishment of the Muslim Brotherhood organization created the foundations for the birth of the Israeli ethnic cleansing state in 1948, on the ruins of the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) of the Arab Palestinian people..."

PA daily op-ed: Israel is a Western colonial implant in the heart of the Arab world
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 15, 2014
Op-ed by Bakr Abu Bakr, member of Fatah Revolutionary Council and regular columnist for official PA daily:
“Western colonialism managed to plant ‘Israel’ as a buffer state separating [states] and settling in the heart of the Arab and Islamic world, for three main reasons: [1.] To maintain the ongoing disintegration, tearing apart and fragmentation of the nation; [2.] to control its financial and intellectual resources...[This has been carried out] as part of the ‘settlement worldview’… which was consistent with the objectives of Zionism, which established in 1881 so as to completely remove the Jewish nuisance from Europe and realize the interests of both sides… We can allude to five main [points] of dispute [between the Palestinians and Israelis:]
1. The Israelis say: ‘This is our land, not your land’... Mandatory Palestine deceptively becomes historic ‘Israel,’ a fact that has been disproved by many, most prominently by Shlomo Sand.
2. They say: ‘We are more ancient, because we had kingdoms (the fact is, if they did indeed exist then they were Arab and existed elsewhere… and the Israelis of today have nothing to do with them) [parenthesis in source] and we had prophets.’…
3. In addition, the claim that the Israelis were and remain a single nation is highlighted, and that they belong to an ancient race (meaning that ethnically, genetically and nationally they are the successors of the People of Israel, who were in fact the tribe of Israel – Arab Yemenites who are no more) [parenthesis in source] – a point that has been completely disproved by experimental science and genetics…"

Note: Shlomo Sand is an Israeli professor of history who has stated that he does not think Israelis or Jews have a “historical right” to the land.

Official PA daily: Israel is a "colonialist, settler and Orientalist state, ‎which fabricated a historical narrative in ‎order to colonize Palestine‎"

Op-ed by Izz Al-Din As'ad
‎“IS was‎ a pawn of Israeli-American ‎intelligence, meant to fulfill the dream of ‎the Jewish state…‎ The danger in a religious state is evident ‎to all groups of a people’s ethnic and ‎religious minorities, given that the Islamic ‎State – represented ‎ by IS – has ‎imposed a poll tax on the Iraqi Christians, ‎and fought other Muslims – both Sunni ‎and Shiite – under the pretext of [their] ‎having forsaken Islam and [committed] ‎heresy. In other words, a religious state, ‎whatever the religion may be, is based on ‎an ideology of exclusion, inequality, ‎injustice…‎ Every religious state has fought and will ‎always fight other religious and ethnic ‎minorities in order to expel them from the ‎country. This is what happened in Serbia, ‎this is what is being carried out in Iraq by ‎IS, and this is what may happen to the ‎Palestinians in Israel, both Muslims and ‎Christians, if the dream of the Jewish state ‎is fulfilled…‎
Establishing a Jewish state means the ‎Jewish territory controlled by the Jewish ‎state will be land for Jews only. In the ‎Palestinian case, this is a complex issue, ‎because this state is a colonialist, settler ‎and Orientalist state, which fabricated a ‎historical narrative in order to colonize ‎Palestine. It will act forcefully to destroy ‎the Arab society in Palestine, which was ‎colonized in 1948. This may amount to the ‎expulsion of the Palestinians living in ‎Jerusalem, in order to cleanse the Jewish ‎state of the ‘gentiles’ – the Jewish term for ‎non-Jews…‎
The creation of IS, the outlining of its ‎strategy... contribute ‎dangerously to the realization of the idea ‎that Israel is a Jewish state.''

Firstly, ‎because it is the right of the Palestinian ‎Arab people to employ all forms of struggle ‎until its national goals are realized. ‎Secondly, in 1975, international law (i.e., ‎UN Resolution 3236 of 1974, which ‎reaffirmed the “right of the Palestinian ‎people to regain its rights by all means in ‎accordance with the purposes and ‎principles of the Charter of the United ‎Nations) guaranteed [the right of] ‎Palestinians to employ all forms of ‎struggle. Official PA daily: Israel’s creation was a “crime against humanity” and “international conspiracy”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 15, 2014
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“The attempt on the part of [Israel’s] new leaders to extract recognition from the leadership of the Palestinian people that Israel is Jewish or that Israel is the state of the Jews, [amounts to] an insistence on falsifying the historical facts and events; Israel’s political leaders and other intellectuals seem as if they were trying to change the direction of the earth’s rotation. The Palestinian refugees’ right of return depends on the free decision and personal will of [each] Palestinian refugee, as it is a sacred human right which no power in the world can prevent its possessor from realizing. In addition, it is a right which will never become obsolete…
May 15, 1948 was and remains the date of a crime against humanity which has been going on for 66 years; this day is the essence and the symbol of a huge international conspiracy aimed at putting an end to the existence of a tranquil, peace-loving people. This was the day in which Israel was used as an occupation state and spearhead [against the Palestinian people].”

Fatah official: Israel is a “colonialist Zionist enterprise” in alliance with the US that seeks to weaken the entire Arab region
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 15, 2014
Op-ed by Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki
“On May 14, 1948, colonialist Britain announced the end of its Mandate in Palestine and the completion of its mission, [which was] to allow the Zionist movement to take over... That same night, the leader of the armed Zionist gangs, David Ben Gurion, finished reading the declaration of the ‘independence of the State of Israel,’ as it was called, to the leaders of these gangs. With them, he approved Plan D, and on the morning of May 15, [1948] the Holocaust of Palestine, its great Nakba began… [We are still struggling] to prepare ourselves for the restoration of all the rights we lost and to concentrate all our power and ability on achieving the great victory and putting an end to the Zionist settlement enterprise on our Palestinian land…
As we have seen throughout the history of the conflict, the functional aspect of the colonialist Zionist enterprise outside of Palestine’s borders calls for engaging in war and aggression against the Arab nation, completely dominating all political, social and economic channels in the neighboring Arab countries, weakening and embroiling them in wars and internal and external conflicts, and weakening the [entire] Arab region, exhausting it, to keep it under foreign influence and hegemony forever …
Beyond the borders of the Arab world, it also demands, as we have seen, the forging of a strategic alliance with the United States – where AIPAC and the Zionist lobby have a strong influence – and with the fascist regimes and oppressive regimes in Asia, Africa and Latin America. [It also demands] supporting separatist and reactionary movements among nations fighting for their freedom and national independence... in order to keep them in the cycle of poverty and dependence on monopolistic global companies.”

PA daily op-ed: Holocaust was heinous, but "the racist barbarity of Zionist colonialism is "no less heinous than Hitler's Nazism or Mussolini's Fascism"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 7, 2014
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily and advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs
“President Mahmoud Abbas set a precedent for the Palestinian policy on the Holocaust when he called it ‘the most heinous crime to have occurred against humanity in the modern era,’ in answer to a question about Jewish Holocaust Day, during his meeting with Rabbi Marc Schneier on Sunday, April 27 [2014]…
Israeli leaders, especially from the extreme right, such as [Israeli Minister of Economy Naftali] Bennett, [Israeli MP Uri] Ariel, [Israeli MP Moshe] Feiglin and others, will never be reconciled whatever the positive Palestinian position on the Jewish question may be… because they believe that the statements of the Palestinian leaders – and especially those of President Abbas – are a tactical ploy aimed at winning the sympathy of the West and Israel… In addition, they are trying to attribute a hostile position on the Holocaust to Mahmoud Abbas, which is not true at all…
Nonetheless, the Holocaust cannot be considered the most heinous crime against humanity, because that’s an exaggeration. The most heinous and appalling crimes in [modern] times were the World Wars and the regional wars that claimed tens of millions of lives from among the nations of the world. The Crusades were among the most heinous wars earlier in history. Every religious or ethnic war is a heinous war. The Palestinian Nakba – whose testimony against the racist barbarity of Zionist colonialism, which is supported by the capitalist West, is still evident – is also among the wars and calamities that are no less heinous than Hitler’s Nazism or Mussolini’s Fascism.”

PA daily op-ed: "We are the main victims... of the Zionist ideology, which exploited the suffering of the world’s Jews and the Jewish problem in Europe"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 29, 2014
By Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“Yes, we are against the Holocaust, because by [holding] this position we protect our humanity – despite the efforts of generals, prime ministers and leaders of extremist, Jewish parties that smell of racism and discrimination, to deprive us of [our humanity] and deny that we possess it like the rest of the nations.
Intelligent and compassionate people cannot help but perceive the tragedy of a European who was murdered, burned, arrested or persecuted for being a Jew, especially since we are the main victims, more than any other nation in the world, of the Zionist ideology, which exploited the suffering of the world’s Jews and the Jewish problem in Europe. It became a contractor for the old and new colonialist states in the heart of the Arab territory, and it perpetrates war crimes in Palestine…
We cannot accept the crimes of Hitler the Nazi against the Jews in Germany and Europe, even if the crimes of Israel’s political and military leaders against us surpass the Holocaust crime – because we support the right of every innocent human being to life.
Otherwise, we will enable any nation coming after us to condone the crimes that were perpetrated against us, just as we have condoned – for the sake of argument – the crimes of the Nazis against the European Jews.
I, as a humane Palestinian, oppose any form of exploitation, racism, discrimination and crime. There is no difference between victims in terms of [their] sex, faith or color, for we are all children of Adam and Eve.”

“Today is the 38th anniversary of Land Day, at a time when the struggle between the [Palestinian] national project and the Zionist colonialist project is intensifying…
The Israeli leadership insists on bending the truth and imposing its false narrative by extracting recognition of the Israeli state’s ‘Jewish identity’ from the Palestinian people and leadership. This means the destruction and effacement of the foundations of the Palestinian narrative.”

Note: Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented.      “Israel, which was established through a colonialist decision 66 years ago, still, to this very day, has no constitution defining its borders or defining who is a Jew. Proponents of the Zionist movement are ‎pumping up these lies through their ‎internationally influential media outlets, ‎which are supported in an unprecedented ‎way by the imperialist West, in order to ‎disseminate them and to brainwash the ‎Jews, who have been deceived, to realize ‎‎[their] colonial objectives in the region. ‎This [is being done] because the State of ‎Israel (Note: the Palestinian media ‎generally avoids using this term) was a ‎front line and support base for the ‎capitalist powers… and its purpose was ‎the partitioning of the Arab region and the ‎theft of its resources, to prevent the ‎awakening of the Arab nation and to serve ‎as a way out of the distress of the Jewish ‎question within the given time frame.‎

Official PA daily: Israel is a "colonialist" state
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 23, 2013

“The policies and actions of the Israeli ethnic cleansing state against the manifold aspects of life of the Palestinian people provoke the anger, resentment and disgust of all the nations of the world…
There is no doubt that the various sectors of the Palestinian nation, their Arab brothers and the supporters of peace in the world – including Israelis – must broaden their sphere of activity regarding world opinion, in order to expand the process of boycott and the isolation of the Israeli apartheid state:
(1) In order to force it to stop all the violations that are preventing and obstructing the political settlement.
(2) So that it will fulfill the demands of peace – that is, two states with the June 4, 1967 borders.
(3) To maintain peace in the region and the world.
(4) To save Israel from its racist character and defeat the fascism that is evolving among the Zionists.
(5) To strengthen the character [of Israel as] a state of all its citizens, especially since the Middle-Eastern and African Jewish communities are experiencing historical persecution, and even before them, the Palestinian Arab people, who refused to leave the land of their ancestors and remained rooted in the lands that were left to them after the establishment of the colonialist [state of] Israel in 1948.”
